Up next is Wichita State on the road on Tuesday. The Shockers are 11-15 and 4-9 in the AAC and another low scoring AAC opponent. In fact, they might be the worst offense in the AAC and that is saying something.

Wichita State hasn't reached 60 points since their 62-44 win over Tulane a month ago. They are 3-4 in those games scoring 57, 40, 57, 54, 53, 49 and 47 points. I'm guessing UConn will hold them under 50. But then again, I thought that would happen in their last game but Tulsa went out and hit their first 5 threes! So you never know.

The Shockers have ZERO players scoring in double digit points for the season. I don't remember seeing a team do that this late in the season. Part of the reason for that is that they always a ton of players pretty equal minutes. They have 11 players with double digit minutes. They have no one averaging more than 29.2 minutes per game.

I would bet that Wichita State looked closely at how somewhat effective Tulane, UCF and other teams were in slowing down the Huskies. Foul UConn early and often. Play them physical and hope it throws them off their game.

In this game? It won't come close to working. I think the Huskies run away early and win by 50+.

Two teams I really don't like played each other Monday night. It's always a win for me because one of them will lose. In this case, No. 5 Notre Dame slapped around No. 17 Syracuse 98-68 in a game that was never competitive. Even in a blowout like this, Notre Dame played their starters 30+ minutes. Yes, sometimes so does UConn. The Irish played a great game with 29 assists on their 38 baskets. They shot 57% from the field and 44% on threes.

No. 8 Maryland managed to squeak by Purdue 58-55 behind Kaila Charles who had 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. But other than Charles, who is a terrific player and Stephanie Jones, Maryland is not the most talented roster. I would love the Terrapins to be in UConn's bracket as a 2 or 3 seed. Maryland did clinch a tie for the regular season Big Ten title.

No. 1 Baylor used their tremendous defense (just ask UConn) to dismantle No. 18 Texas 64-35. Baylor was led by the usual suspects. Lauren Cox had 13 points and 9 rebounds along with 6 blocks, Kalani Brown had 19 points and 12 rebounds. The rest of the team? Meh. So, I guess the question is, was Baylor's defense that good or was Texas offense just that bad? How bad? More to come on that one!

Texas's offense deserved it's own section! It might have been the worse offense in a single game this season by any team that I have perused a box score.

This pathetic effort had the Longhorns shoot 20.3% from the field, 2-13 on threes for 15.4%, 7-17 on free throws for 41.2%, 18 turnovers and only 3 assists. Their leading scorer had 9 points and three others had 6 each.

It was just Ugly, so what do they get?????

They are 158 and 168 points away from Stewie's #10 total of 686 pts. Given their per game average of over 19 points each and the next six games versus AAC competition, watch for a strong run. Amazing that those two could end up with 2 seasons each in the Top 10 all-time at UConn..!!
