UConn has signed on to a two year contract with Texas for a home and home series starting in the 2020-21 season. The Huskies will host the first game before moving on to Texas in the 2021-22 season.
UConn fans will be looking forward to seeing how the two bigs that settled on UConn and Texas do when they meet. And how did they grow as players in their Junior season. UConn has Olivia Nelson-Ododa, and Texas has Charli Collier, who verballed to UConn before changing her mind and committing to Texas.
Their stats are pretty comparable in their freshman seasons. Collier has played slightly more minutes, shoots FT better, rebounds and scores a little more. ONO shoots a higher FG percentage, and has blocked more shots.

I wrote this late so I'm reprinting it again. It's big news.
In a huge impact to the NCAA tournament seedings and the prospects of the very talented Oregon team, the No. 2 Beavers lost to No. 12 Oregon State 67-62 in a very exciting game. Yes, the loss might drop Oregon from the overall No. 2 seed in the NCAA's at this time, but the biggest impact is the possible loss of their center Ruthy Hebard to a knee injury. She hurt the knee with a couple of minutes left in the first half and did not return in the second half playing a total of 13 minutes. If she is lost for any length of time, the Beavers will be impacted severely in both the PAC 12 tournament and the NCAA tournament.

As of 3:00 PM, still no update on her condition. But here is a link to when she hurt her knee.

You can see her knee wobble. Sadly, I've seen that look before. And it's almost always an ACL/MCL problem. Hopefully just a sprain, but it looks bad me.

Speaking of the NCAA tournament, the latest Charlie Creme's Bracketology is out and I'm hoping he is wrong on UConn's bracket.
The Huskies are the No. 1 seed in the Albany bracket. Guess who is No. 2? Notre Dame. South Carolina is the No. 4 seed in the bracket. This just doesn't seem fair. Is UConn the worst No. 1 seed to they get the best No. 2 seed in Notre Dame according to the "S" curve?
Louisville gets Stanford as their No. 2 seed.
Baylor gets Mississippi State as their No. 2 seed.
Oregon gets NC State as their No. 2 seed.
How did Oregon just lose and apparently get the second (I think easiest) No. 2 seed in NC State?
Charlie does a great job picking the field. Seedings and location? Not so much.

Time to pick on Notre Shame again. Last night, they beat a decimated NC State team 95-72. The game wasn't even that close as NC State scored 8 of the last 10 points to close the margin to "only" 23 points. Several points to make.
1. ND played 4 starters 38, 37, 36 and 36 minutes despite leading by 29 in the 4th period.
2. Four subs for Notre Lame played 1, 1, 2, and 4 minutes despite the huge lead. Two others played 14 and 7 minutes.
3. Up 29 points with 2:25 left in the game, Arike Obunbowale missed a 3 point shot. Why is she in and why is she shooting 3's?
4. Ogunbowale led the Irish in scoring with 22 points, but took 21 shots. Mabrey had 21 points on 14 shots.
5. ND is ranked 5th and looking at a possible #2 seed in the NCAA tournament. NC State was #9 but falling. Was ND trying for a "blow out win" ? 6. Arike made 7 of 21 shots. 33% and 1-5 from three range. Her teammates were 8-11, 8-13 and 9-14. Why not let them shoot?
ND plays powerhouse Duke next. Then #18 Syracuse. Their next challenge will be in the ACC tournament by L'ville or Miami. Hoping for another loss.
