No matter your political preference, we should all be hoping for a very successful time in office for President Biden.

Big game coming up Thursday night as UConn visits Tennessee.

Here is my Pregame Report.

And we have a new game on the schedule!!!!!

I'm really excited about this game. Arkansas can really shoot the ball and have quick guards. It should be a high scoring game. And a decent test for the Huskies. Another ranked team is a good thing.

Arkansas Coach Mike Neighbors on how the UConn game came about
and how he feels about it and about Geno.

No. 14 South Florida at Wichita State - Postponed

No. 18 DePaul at Villanova  - Postponed

Oregon State's return to the basketball court was short lived for the women's program. The Beavers, who returned to game action last Sunday at Arizona after being on pause since Dec. 20, announced Wednesday that Friday's home game against Washington has been postponed due to ongoing COVID-19 issues in the Huskies' program.

Just like last week, we have another big Thursday of games. This time it includes No. 3 UConn at No. 25 Tennessee. Of course there were a few postponed games. I'll list them in the Thursday blog.

Looking forward to these games, I'll note my upset special!

No. 1 Louisville vs No. 23 Syracuse - The Cuse has been playing great lately and Louisville has played good enough to win. The Orange just might pull this one off.
No. 4 South Carolina vs No. 22 Georgia
No. 11 Michigan at No. 17 Ohio State
No. 12 Kentucky at Auburn
No. 18 Depaul at Butler
No. 21 Northwestern vs Illinois

It would be difficult to identify the dumbest post ever on the UConn Message Board called The Boneyard. Consider this gem from the post game discussion about the Butler game last night. Warning, to not read if you have a queesy stomach..

"A good high school team beat a mediocre middle school team. Of course UConn scored more than a 100. Butler was too short and too few. But you learn nothing from a game like this. We actually have no idea if UConn is actually any good. The last game I watched before this was Colorado-Stanford. Both would have likely taken UConn. It isn’t Geno’s fault. He scheduled the big boys. COVID took them away. Unless UConn can schedule real competition, I don’t like their chances for FF."

Several points to make.
1. UConn is a good high school team?  The team is a collection of GREAT high school players. I am certain Paige, Evina and Olivia are really good COLLEGE players. Moron...
2. But you learn nothing from a game like this? Geno has said repeatedly that game film is the best teacher for lessons not learned in practice. Idiot...
3. We have no idea if UConn is actually any good?  Seriously? Even people who don't follow women's basketball know UConn is a very, very good team, every year since 1995. Dumba$$...
3. Colorado & Stanford would have likely taken UConn? Colorado lost to the Denver Pioneers. Their mascot is the Donner party... (puke)   Ignoramous...
4. Unless UConn can schedule real competition, I don't like their chances for the Final Four? First, how is the "good high school team" going to get to the Final Four? Second, what the heck does he think Geno has been trying to do all f'ing year..??  Cretin...

Last nights game was just what the doctor ordered for this program. It was a GAME, not practice. It was in Gampel, where all the greats have played. Everyone played and performed well against competition. Making three point baskets in a game is better than practicing against each other. Most of all, it gave Geno film to illustrate teaching points that need improvement and showing what finally worked well.

Players live for games. It is not hard to understand games are the reward for endless practice. But this simpleton sees nothing positive from a GAME that clearly rewarded players from a 9 day lull in official action. DMV should revoke this guy's drivers license so he doesn't hurt someone on the road.

Go Huskies..!!

No. 9 Baylor 77 Oklahoma State 58 - No surprise in this game. Baylor bounced back from that loss to Iowa State with an easy win against Oklahoma State. Nalyssa Smith had another double double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Moon Ursin also had a big game with 20 points and 8 rebounds. And DiDi Richards handed out 7 assists along with picking up 4 steals.
