Well, at least Logan enjoyed the storm!

Reports are that Katie Lou is under the weather. Feeling the effects from the flu for about a week. Her status for Saturday's game against SMU is unknown. It will be a game time decision. I have a feeling she will see really limited minutes, just enough to break a sweat. Maybe 10-15 minutes. Then rest until Monday night for the big game against South Carolina!!

I'm just waiting for Saturday's game against SMU to be over to add the updated stats to my South Carolina Pre Game Report. It's chock full of information and opinion on this one.
There is a chance I will be in attendance for this great and historic game. Can't wait!
Here is my write up for the Post Game report from the first SMU game. Hopefully that will give you some info on how Saturday's game will go.

It looks like the benching of Bianca Cuevas-Moore in the South Carolina/Auburn game was intentional - "South Carolina coach Dawn Staley wanted to take more time on offense, perhaps with an eye toward shortening a game against UConn, an opponent which can overwhelm opponents in transition. Staley mostly liked what she saw, saying when the Gamecocks broke ranks, Auburn made them pay with a fast-break basket or two. To that end, South Carolina backup point guard Bianca Cuevas-Moore played only five minutes and didn't get a shot off. Cuevas-Moore's specialty is fast-paced, high-impact scoring."
I have more in the pre game report, but for a high scoring team like South Carolina (22nd in the country at 77 per game) to change how they have played all season says a lot about the confidence of the Gamecocks to beat UConn straight up.

By David in Naples!!!!!
UConn has scored exactly 2,000 points this season. For 23 games, that comes out to 87.0 points per game. Opponents have managed only 1,248 points. Free throws have accounted for 307 points of the Huskies total, or 15.4%. Opponents only get 11% of their points from free throws (138). This big difference in points is true from beyond the three point line as well. UConn's 179 threes resulted in 537 points (26.8% of the total), while the bad guys have only hit 126 threes for 378 points.
The Huskies have scored 578 baskets inside the three point arc. Many of those are lay ups or short jumpers. Those 1,156 points are 58% of UConn's total and result in a team shooting percentage of 52.3%. Opponents have 366 baskets inside the three point arc and they shoot only 34.7% from the field. Fewer free throws, fewer made threes and a lousy shooting percentage from the field all combine to hold opponents to only 54 points per game, 33 points under the Huskies. Credit the Huskies' defense..!!
Of the 2,000 points, Katie Lou has 491 (24.5%), Napheesa has 449 (22.5%), Kia has 305 (15.3%) and Gabby has 290 pts (14.5%). Together, those Core Four have 76.8% of UConn's total or 1,535 points.
Go Huskies..!!
