Late night bowling, so I won't have a big write up on the game. Just a few thoughts, but a great win, 90-45 over Temple that clinched the regular season AAC title.

I had a great night too with a 203, 179 and 242. We won 3 points and are in first place in the second half. GO RAT BASTARDS!!!!!

My pre game thoughts -

"I just think that the close game against Tulane will still be on their minds and the Huskies will continue some of their struggles. If Temple continues to shoot well on threes, the game could be pretty close."

"I expect Temple to be not as hot, and that the UConn frontcourt will dominate the game."

"I'm certainly hoping the slump ends at home against Temple Wednesday. If it does, UConn could have a big win. If it is still happening, it could be very tough game."

Well, I was pretty much right on. My MOV was way off, but I really didn't expect UConn to hold them to 45. But my last thoughts on the game was that it could be a big win, and it was.

Some of the struggles did carry through in the first half. Chong was only 1-8 on threes. But after an 0-4 start, Katie Lou was 3-5 in the second half. A great sign.

The front court just dominated this game with Collier scoring 31, a career high, and another double double. She was 13-14 from the field. Gabby was 7-7. And the Temple Backcourt was not as hot for sure.

Here is my Post Game Report.

David has some great numbers on this game. It tells a great story!!!

UConn got back to their old habits in tonight's victory over Temple, 90-45. Consider what the Huskies do well.

1. Defense- Temple was held to 8, 10 and 11 points in three periods. UConn forced 26 turnovers and had 18 steals.
2. Three pointers- After missing the first 7 three point shots, UConn went 7-14 or 50%. Katie Lou looked confident with her 3 threes.
3. Assists- UConn shared the ball like they always do, with 23 assists on 36 baskets. Katie had 7, Crystal got 5 and Pheesa finished with 4.
4. Rebounds- UConn grabed 42 vs only 28 for Temple. 34 defensive boards held the Owls to 1 shot and done.
5. Good shooting- 36-61 shooting for 59% from the field. Starters go 11-12 from the free throw line.

Lessons learned from Tulane. Pass the ball, take good shots and play tight defense..!!

Go Huskies..!!
