With the graduation of the Big 3, some UConn fans expected Kia Nurse to step up in a leadership role, both on and off the court. At the Pace exhibition game on Sunday, Nurse was the only UConn player to go to center court for the "coin flip." Apparently, Geno thinks she is the team leader. 
Here are Kia's stats for the first two exhibition games:
1. In 49 minutes of play, Nurse has scored 28 points on 50% shooting overall. (9-18)
2. Most importantly, from 3 pt range, Kia is also shooting 50% at 4-8.
3. Her assist/turnover ratio is 2.66 with 8 assists vs 3 turnovers.
4. How about 1 personal foul in her two games of action? Sweet...!
5. Nurse has 7 steals, a stat that will be very important for this team.
6. From the free throw line, Nurse is 6-8 or 75%.
The season starts Monday at Florida State. Kia's role is clear, lead the team and do what she does well. She needs to shoot 3's, minimize the turnovers and keep the pace fast, but under control.
