So, there was this one quote from Geno.
"We’re trying to just play to our strengths. We mentioned this to our players, we’re not going to get any bigger as the season goes one. I never remember a year when our post players got taller. This is what we’ve got and we just have to constantly play to our strengths."
Play to our strengths......
I think we as fans need to recognize that. Not every player is a star but what they contribute is important to the success of the team.
Certain folks tend to complain about Chong. They think that she should do more for the team. But her strength is taking care of the ball hitting the open shot. She does that for 15-20 minutes and she helps UConn win.
Same with Butler. But all she needs to do is rebound strong, finish around the basket and defend the post. She does that for 15-20 minutes and she helps UConn win.
The stars are the stars, but role players make a big difference. They allow the stars to rest and compliment them while on the court.
UConn is getting into a nice 7-9 player rotation.

By David in Naples!!!!!
Four games into the new season, sports writers are alreading calling Katie Lou, Napheesa and Gabby the new "Big Three." Against Dayton, those three scored 70 combined points, matching the best combined result of Stewie, Moriah and Mongan during their UConn careers. Not bad..!!
For the season, KLS, Collier & Williams have scored 203 of the 324 Huskies' points (63%.) They also have 80 combined rebounds (51%), 20 of the 34 three pointers (59%) and 12 of the 16 blocked shots (75%).
Together they represent the top 3 scorers, the top 2 rebounders and the top 2 shot blockers. Unlike the original Big Three, their assist totals are only 3rd & 4th on the team to Kia (20) and Crystal (17).
It is too early to make the "Big Three" comparison, but it is fun to see how they dominate most statistical categories for the Huskies..!
Go Huskies..!!
