I added back in many of the links I had last season, including all the UConn links (roster, schedule, stats and media guide). My favorite is the link under videos for a ton of game replays going back several years.
They are at the bottom of the blog. Enjoy!!

In my previous blog I explained why I thought that Chong would still start and Dangerfield would come off the bench. I did that in response to some posts I read on the message boards suggesting a change should be made.
Then I see that the conversation has been resurrected with the following post -
"Does Dangerfield Start Tomorrow vs. LSU? I say, "Yes." It's gonna happen anyway, so just go ahead and get it over with and let's get on with everyone (not just Crystal) learning their new roles. We have big games to play - soon!"
It's going to happen anyway? Yep, probably next year after Chong graduates. I guess if Chong is just terrible in games AND in practices, she might lose that job. But not yet and certainly not in the LSU game.
Many of the responses were supportive of Chong and said in a nicer way than I would have. Probably why I can't post on that message board...lol. But there were a few doozies!
"It's not a question of "a spark off the bench" the way Gabby was the previous two years. Given the players available this year, the fact is that the team plays better when she's on the court. Why would you want to have the team play less than optimally?"
I guess this poster just doesn't understand what a team is. Made up of various parts. Geno started Doty even when other played better. I really is about minutes and getting the most of your players. Starting Dangerfield won't give her more minutes or make her play better. But moving Chong to the bench could set her back in her confidence.
"How come no one considered poor Heather Buck's feelings during her senior season when she was not named an automatic starter simply because of how long she had been at UConn?"
Sigh....really???? Heather Buck was no where near the contributor that Chong is right now. And she never started other than senior night. It's a really really really stupid analogy made by a really really really stupid poster.
As long as everyone is healthy, nothing will change in the starting lineup all season.
I was perusing some scores and I came upon the Iowa UMass game. Iowa won this one, 71-30. The points scored by UMass were bad enough, but the shooting itself? Bricklayer award winning!!!
A few individual performances, although I won't mention the players names -
1-7
1-10
0-12
3-13
As a team, the Minutewomen were 11-57 (19.3%) and 1-7 on threes. They added in 50% Free Throw shooting.
So, congrats on winning the Bricklayer Award. We deserved!

By David in Naples!!!!!
So, how is the #1 recruit in the nation, from two years ago, doing for the Huskies..? Katie Lou Samuelson is quietly playing very well and leading UConn in several statistical categories. For example, as expected KLS has a team high 5 three pointers. Good news is she is making 42% of those shots so far (5-12). She is tied for the team lead in made free throws (7) along with Napheesa Collier, but has the best % at 87.5%.
Katie Lou's 30 points are 2nd on the team and her 6 rebounds are tied for 3rd, with Gabby and Crystal. (Yes, Dangerfield is 3rd in rebounding..!) Rounding out her stats, KLS has 4 assists and 2 steals. The only bad news is her 6 turnovers also lead the team.
m
By far the funniest moment of the young season was when she picked up her 4th foul against FSU. She approached Geno in a panic and said, "I have 4 fouls..!" Geno responded, "That's your fault not mine." She played the rest of the 4th quarter without fouling out. Classic Geno...
Go Katie Lou..!!
