My take? After watching the video and hearing what Geno said Dorka might see a few minutes on Sunday. With a splint and on her off hand? If there is no danger of really reinjuring the hand, she will be playing real soon. Great news!!

UConn women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma inducted into FIBA Hall of Fame
“This just kind of came out of nowhere and I was really kind of taken aback. I really felt like FIBA international basketball, USA basketball, as much as anything in my career it’s helped me become the coach that I am and not stay the coach that I was. And I had to become that in order to be able to win at the level that the U.S. has to win internationally. So to be inducted and to be thought of in a group of those people, I have so much respect for international basketball. Some of those coaches are so far ahead of the game in their thinking that it’s really something to be to be in their company.”

My last few UGGY awards seemed to be always about one team having that special game. For this award we actually have both teams involved. Yes, a true UGGY GAME of the day!!
Sorry Shea, but I have to do it. East Tennessee beat Vanderbilt 44-31. Now, East Tennessee's effort would have been bad enough to win the award on their own. The Bucs shot 27.4% from the field, 2-20 on threes, 8-16 from the foul line for their 44 points. Yuch!!!!
But Vanderbilt outdid them. The Commadores shot 22.9% from the field, 2-13 on threes, and 17 turnovers with only 4 assists. Blech!!!
So, congrats to ETS and Vandy! A great UGGY effort!!
What a great game between No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 20 Maryland.
Maryland led most of the first half and were up eight points, 23-15 midway through the second quarter. Notre Dame slowly closed the gap and took a one point lead for a second...before Maryland regained the lead at 32-31.
The third quarter was back and forth with neither team able to have more than a 1 point lead until Notre Dame hit a pair of baskets to take a 55-51 point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The Irish maintained that lead for the first four minutes of the quarter but Maryland stayed in the game. Eventually, Maryland grabbed the lead again 69-65 with 1:41 remaining on an Abbey Meyers jumper. Notre Dame came back again on a Citron layup with 1:18 left. Maryland came up empty on the next possesion and Miles gave the Irish the lead with a drive and a foul. Diamond Miller hit a jumper for a Maryland lead with 37 seconds left 71-70.
Miller was fouled and only made one of two free throws for a two point Maryland lead. After a timeout, Notre Dame inbounded to Miles who found a posting upt Citron with a size advantage and she hit the layup to tie the game with 14 seconds left.
Maryland was able to get the ball to Miller and with 1 second left she hit a jumper to win the game. I always think it's bad mojo to do this, but Miller ran around the court shushing the fans with her finger in front of her lips.
Miller was just great in this game. She really carried Maryland to the win. She will be a really good pro. She can get her own shot and has a variety of moves in the lane. She had 31 points and 12 rebounds along with 5 assists.
Citron was terrific for Notre Dame with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Plenty to say about Notre Dame in my Pregame report that will be out after the UConn game Friday night.

Tennessee's next opponent, No. 11 Virginia Tech beat up on Nebraska winning 85-54. Guard Georgia Amoore had a triple double with 24 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Wow!! And their 6'6 center had 24 points and 12 rebounds. Good luck Lady Vols.

Two UConn opponents played each ither when No. 12 NC State visited No. 10 Iowa. The Wolfpack were just too quick for the Hawkeyes. In spite of the amazing Caitlin Clark scoring 43 points, it was the weak defense that did them in allowing 94 points to NCST. Fun game to watch though. RS freshman Saniya Rivers had a breakout game with 22 points going 3-4 on threes. She will be a handful as she matures.
