GO UCONN!!!!!

A few good games on the schedule Sunday. I'm really looking forward to the Tennessee/Stanford game at 3:00 on ABC.
This is a huge game for the Lady Vols. They need a statement win badly. They have to every good team they have played. Indiana, Ohio State, UCLA, Gonzoga and Virginia Tech. All ranked teams. Hey, losing to ranked teams is not the worst. And they haven't lost to a weak team yet. So that is a good team.
But eventually you have to beat a good team. Can they beat Stanford in Palo Alto? Doubtful. You know me, I'm hoping for a Cardinal blowout. But I have a feeling it will be a close game.

Two other good games Sunday.
No. 20 Arizona is visiting No. 18 Baylor. I'm really not impressed with either team but I expect the home to win this one.
And finally, No. 11 LSU is taking on a decent team in Oregon State. The Beavers are not as good as years past so LSU will probably still win by double digits. But I'm hoping for a good game.

In a game of interest to Big East fans, No. 14 Iowa State is visiting No. 25 Villanova. A big game for the Wildcats. You always want to defend your home court. I'm looking for a big game for Maddy Siegrist and a big win for Villanova.

UPSETS IN RED
No. 11 LSU at Montana State (Late Game)

Straight from the Dog
I mentioned four cupcake games for Top 25 teams that were playing Saturday and said they would average 40+ points margin of victory. The first three were 28, 28 and 47. Only an average of 34 MOV. But I'm feeling pretty good that will increase as the LSU game is a late start. I'll adjust this in the morning.

I'm going to keep calling these teams out for their cupcake games. I know, some are in-state games that are favors to the weak team. But still.....
No. 1 South Carolina is taking on tough 2-8 Charleston Southern. Why?
No. 4 Indiana is taking on powerhouse 4-6 Moorehead State. Really?
No. 13 Iowa is taking on Northern Iowa. Yep, an in-state directional school.
No. 24 Oklahoma is taking on Southern. UGGY game coming up?
Sigh.....really good for women's basketball, huh.

Tough loss at home for No. 16 Creighton against a very good Arkansas team that is ranked No. 21. Former UConn player Saylor Poffenbarger had a terrific game for the Razorbacks. She played 38 minutes and scored 16 points and grabbed 11 turnovers. I always root for players that transfer from UConn to do well. I have mixed feelings about Saylor. Maybe it was the comments from her mother about how Saylor felt about UConn. But it just didn't feel right when she left. She certainly would have seen plenty of playing time in Storrs if she had stayed.
The Bluejays had a tough shooting night, going only 34.8% from the field and 8-35 on threes. Can't win many games shooting like that.
