UConn’s Lou Lopez Sénéchal made the Big East’s Weekly Honor Roll. She averaged 19.5 points, 3 assists & 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting a league-best 70% from deep this past week.

I usually don't go with teams I don't even know exist for my UGGY award. But for some reason, Wyoming has the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls on their schedule. I not sure that was a good idea for either team. Maybe it was the fact that they have the same nicknames? A pair of Cowgirls?
A member of the RMAC, the NMH Cowgirls do quite well at their own level. Clearly this wasn't it.
The final was Wyoming 80 and the other CowGirls 24. Their quarter scoring was 6, 6, 5, and exploding for 7 points in the fourth quarter. How did they manage to score all these points?
Well, they shot 9-58 from the field for 15.5%.
2-16 on threes for 12.5%.
Only 14 turnovers. But again, only 24 points.
So congrats to the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls for winning Monday's UGGY award. Hey, at least you have that going for you.

UConn dropped to No. 6 in the AP poll after their loss to Notre Dame. However, they are No. 3 in the NET rankings and that is much more important as it is directly used by the NCAA selection committee for seedings. The Huskies play Princeton, Maryland (on the road) and Flroida State before starting their BE schedule.
I'm just hoping for a healthy team with both Fudd and Juhasz ready to play!

I watched the North Carolina State/Georgia game and it was quite the defensive battle. No surprise with Geor\gia being coached by former UCF coach Abe (Katie Abramhamsom-Henderson). The Bulldogs had a 30-19 lead with just under 7 minutes left in the second quarter. They scored exactly 2 more points allowing the Wolf Pack to close to 32-29 at the half.
The second half started like the first half ended. NCST scored the first 10 points of the third quarter while holding Georgia scoreless for the same 4 minutes. That's 2 points for the Bulldogs in 11 minutes. North Carolina State outscored Georgia 19-9 to take a 48-41 lead going into the final 10 minutes.
NCST held a 7 point lead 54-47 before Georgia went on their final run of the game to close to 54-52 with 4:25 remaining in the game. That was pretty much it. The Wolf Pack closed with an 11-2 run to end the game.
This is the first win for NC State over Georgia, going 0-9 in their history.
And Abe team can't lose enough for me.

UConn's next opponent Princeton played Monday night and handled the Towson Tigers, winning 71-54. The Tigers won in spite of shooting only 37% from the field and 4-18 on threes. UConn will be looking for some redemption after that loss to Notre Dame. Sorry Carla, but it won't be pretty.
