We had a wonderful second night with my wife's cousin Andrea and her husband Greg who are visiting from Florida!!!! And bonus.....Greg is a regular reader of my blog!!!

The new AP poll is out and no surprise, UConn has moved into their familiar No. 1 spot. What is a little surprising is that Notre Dame only dropped to No. 2. I would have thought they might drop one more spot. Anyone think that is Notre Dame won UConn would have only dropped one spot?
As I predicted, Tennessee has broken into the top ten. It pays to play no one.
Only 11 of the top 25 are still undefeated. 3 of the bottom 7 are from the powerful SEC. And South Carolina is still there with four losses.

I gave Christyn Williams a ton of credit in my post game report, but she deserves a little more. She won the ESPN player of the week. Her teammate Napheesa Collier was also nominated.
And she was the AAC player of the week too!!!! But I'm confused. She won player of the week but not freshman of the week? Huh????

UConn has been such a dominant program. Here is more evidence.
The last regular season loss was on Nov. 17, 2014, by 88-86 in OT to Stanford.
The last non-OT loss was on March 12, 2013, by 61-59 in the Big East Tournament Finals.
The last regular season loss was on March 4, 2013, by 96-87 in triple OT against Notre Dame. The last regular season non-OT loss was on February 18, 2013, by 76-70 to #1 Baylor.
UConn is 8-0 in their last 1 v. 2 games with half of those wins coming at the expense of ND
They have also won 201 regular season games in a row. That is just crazy!!!

The Fun Numbers just keep coming from last night's big victory over Notre Dame. In their last 100 home games, ND is 97-3. Care to guess who the team is that is responsible for the 3 losses. That's right, UConn..!!

1. Notre Dame's scoring by quarter was 22, 19, 18 then 12 points. Good Huskie defense..!
2. Only 2 ND players even tried a three-point shot. Ogunbowale was 0-6 and Mabrey was 1-6.
3. Scoring off turnovers was 11-3 in favor of UConn.
4. Shots taken by each starter were 16, 16, 15, 13 and 10. Balanced..!
5. ND missed 8 free throws and had only 10 assists.
6. Ogunbowale's undercut of Christyn in her 4th quarter drive in the lane was cheap, dirty and should have been a flagrant 1 foul.
And finally, in her last 3 games, Christyn "Sqeaks" Williams is 24-34 or 70.6%, including 7-10 from three-point range.
