Finally I got one right. Well, only one point off. Thank goodness for a great fourth quarter.
Down 2 points going into the fourth quarter is a pretty unusual place for UConn to find themselves. And after 11 quarters in 6 days with only a 6 player rotation, you have to believe this team was fatigued.
But they have faced adversity all season long. More than any other Uconn team. And behind freshman Azzi Fudd, the Huskies pulled away for the easy win.
Fudd ended up leading UConn with 24, scoring 8 straight for UConn as they pulled away in the fourth quarter.
Dorka Juhasz was just amazing in this game. She is really figuring it out with her second consecutive 20+ point game and hitting 3-5 of her three pointers.
You have to believe that all the different lineups Geno has had to use will help them as the three players not playing come back. You always worry that the continuity between the players when you have 9 in the rotation could be difficult. but other than Bueckers, there aren't any combination of players that haven't played together.
So now, they have several days before playing again on Friday against Xavier against a team they beat by 37 points. Maybe some playing time for DeBerry and Gabriel to satisfy some of the fans that are complaining they arent't seeing more time.
I hope to write a longer take on this game later. Company over for the Super Bowl.

I tell ya, I haven't seen a season like this in regards to upsets.
Three more Top 25 teams go down.
This doesn't help UConn but unranked Oregon State beat No. 24 Oregon.
No. 4 Michigan lost their second straight game to unranked teams, this time to Northwestern.
Finally, unranked Virginia Tech beat No. 23 North Carolina.
The Michigan loss will have a big impact on the seedings. Just don't ask me what....lol. Maybe Phil will explain it!!

Another gutsy win against, this time against Marquette 72-58. What a 4th quarter..! Down at the start of that last period, UConn scores 27 points and holds Marquette to 11. The Huskies forced 7 MU turnovers in that decisive last 10 minutes. Good stats all around. Consider:
1. Balanced scoring - Dorka and Azzi with 21 each. Evina with a quiet 15. CW with 10.
2. Huskies go 10-20 from deep as Dorka goes 3-5 and Azzi 4-6 from three range. 64%!!
3. MU’s McLaughlin, top in the nation in 3 pt shooting at 44%, only goes 2-9.
4. Every starter with points, rebounds, assists and all but one with a three.
5. Only 6 turnovers and 10 fouls for UConn. MU with 15 to’s.
6. Azzi with “shooters amnesia” goes 8-14.
7. 19 assists on 29 baskets. Very good ball movement again.
Now 5 days off to rest and get the walking wounded healthy. Hopefully Ono and Ducharme will be ready Friday.
