I usually have a write-up of the upcoming game with some details about the opposing team. But in this case there is not much to say.
Xavier is 8-16 and 3-12 in the conference. Their only conference wins are against Georgetown (OT), Providence and Butler, the three other worst teams in the conference.
The opposing teams they played average better in every stat than Xavier does. Every stat.
Sounds good for UConn doesn't it. Well, it gets better.
Xavier is missing their best player. Nia Clark, their 5'9" guard who is the leading scorer, put her name in the transfer portal. A big impact to Xaviers' ability to put points on the board. But this team is so bad that the impact int he final result in minumal.
I can see every player getting minutes in this game. Well, maybe every one. Will we see an appearance by Paige after practiing for a few days? Doubtful. But based on the video, I can see Paige in Geno's ear, making him crazy to the point where he throws her a bone and she gets in for a couple of minute run. It's getting so close and I can't wait!
Prediction? Pain for Xavier. UConn by 50+ in an old school UConn over an overmatched conference mate beat down.

Straight from the Dog
Looking forward to the Top 16 seeds next reveal, it's looking better and better for UConn to get that 2 seed that I believe they deserve.
As of right now, 1-4 are in good shape to keep their one seeds. After that? It looks like all the current two seeds are looking for ways to drop down to a three seed.
Since the last reveal....
No. 5 Michigan lost twice since the reveal.
No. 6 Iowa State just lost by 25 points to Texas.
No. 7 Arizona lost to unranked Arizona State.
No. 8 Indiana just lost Monday to unranked Nebraska by 15 points.
No. 9 Oklahoma lost two games, the last to unranked Texas Tech.
UConn, at No. 11, looks in prime shape to slide up into a 2 seed. They won't pass No. 10 Baylor, but I have to believe that they could easily slip into the No. 7 spot.
Here is my new 2 seeds as of today.
No. 5 Arizona
No. 6 Baylor
No. 7 UConn
No. 8 Indiana
TIme will tell. UConn is primed to win out their schedule while these teams all have games they could lose.
A two or a three seed is fine for UConn, but I like them feeling good about the seeding. And I'm sure they would feel better with a two seed.

So, of course as I say 1-4 are stable, someone loses.
Louisville, seeded 4th lost a tough road game at North Carolina State 66-65 in a real back and forth affair.
It probably won't affect the seeding because everyone else below them lost games too.

And Tennessee gets upset again, this time by now 13-11 Alabama on the Crimson Tide's home court. Not only did they lose in a really bad way, they might have lost their leading scorer and best player, Jordon Horston for who knows how long. She got in a tussle for a loose ball and it appears she injured her arm. The only thing I could see was them putting on an inflatable cast. She was able to walk off the court but if she broke a bone, it's doubtful she could come back this season. I'm hoping for the best for her but it didn't look good.
As I said early in the season, they were the worst undefeated team in the country. They were lucky to win a few close games with as poor as their offense has been playing. Their luck has run out and on top of it, they just don't play well as a team. And they can't shoot for the life of them. They were 39% from the field, 3-12 on threes and a horrible 15-26 on free throws. At one point they were down 20 points before a late Tennessee rally closed it to 10 points.
They play No. 1 South Carolina on Sunday and that was going to be a tough game for the Lady Vols. But with Horston likely out, look for a blowout. It will get really ugly.

Not a Top 25 score but Virginia won only their fourth game of the season and their first ACC game with a surprisingly easy 67-54 win over Duke. The big news in this game was the play of former Huskie Mir McLean.
She had 12 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocks. Wow!! I love this kid. All the best and more success for her in the future.
