GO UCONN!!!!!

I don't usually start off with videos but the pregame interviews are terrific. I really enjoy Geno's interviews. Funny and informative. And honest. But this interview with Coach Dailey was just fantastic. I have met Chris several times and she always remembers me (of course, I'm unforgetable) even if she really doesn't. And she doesn't mince words on how difficult it's been the last two year. But she talks about how this team has responded to the adversity and has gotten stronger because of it. She looks at the big picture, something we fans all should do, and understands that getting the team ready for March is a process.

We learn about what player will be the 7th to allow UConn to play (Edwards) and that both Ducharme and Patterson are on concussion protocol. The best news that I got out of the interview was that Fudd could see some minutes if she feels up to it. Chris said that has been her status for the last few games. So clearly Azzi hasn't been up to playing. But it's her decision. She is cleared to play. And I have a feeling Coach Dailey is pulling a Geno and motivating her in the press. We shall see.

Raina Tomasicka a 5’11 guard from Latvia is followed by and is now also following Coach Valley. She would be Class of 2023. I'm not sure with 5 players already and 14 projected for next year that there is room for her, but I really like her game.

Straight from the Dog

There is a schedule change for UConn.

First, the DePaul game has been rescheduled. They will play in Storrs on January 23rd.

The Seton Hall game originally schedule for January 19th will now be played on January 17th.

I'm loving the rescheduling of the DePaul game to 1/23.

Now, after the St. John's game on 1/11, they play:

Georgetown on Sunday, 1/15

Seton Hall on Tuesday, 1/17

Butler on Saturday, 1/21

DePaul on Monday, 1/23

These are perfect games for UConn to get 100% healthy and be ready to roll into Knoxville to take on Tennessee.

Tennessee fans are feeling confident they are on the right track and will beat the Huskies for the win against a tough team they have been missing. I would like nothing more than to see UConn beat them on their home court.

The UConn/South Carolina game is sold out! That means that there will be 16,000+ screaming UConn fans in the XL Center going crazy to help UConn beat the No. 1 team in the country.

It should be a great game.

Unranked Texas upset No. 23 Kansas 72-59 in a huge game for the Longhorns. After starting the season in the top 4 in the country, a 3 game losing streak early in the season starting with a loss to UConn knocked them out of the Top 25.

But they had a recent 8 game winning streak and this win against a ranked team, maybe they have righted the ship. Good for UConn's NET rating.
