Straight from the Dog

With Paige and Aubrey coming back there are goingn to be 10+ players that will deserve 20+ minutes. I just hope they are healthy enough to let Geno have that problem.

Depth chart is amazing.

Point guard - Paige, KK, Cheli, Bettencourt
Shooting Guard - Fudd, Shade, Ziebell
Small Forward - Ducharme, Griffin, Samuels, Cheli
Power Forward - Patterson, Griffin, Ice
Center - Ice, El Alfy, DeBerry

I'm sure that you can come up with a different depth chart. It's a little early as things could change but it was fun to think about.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some great numbers from Dan Connolly:

1,695 — Aaliyah Edwards recently entered the top 20 in UConn’s scoring list and is up to 1,695 career points — making her the highest-scoring Canadian in program history after passing Kia Nurse. She needs five on Monday to surpass Ann Strother in 18th place.

929 — On the topic of Edwards’ place in the record books, she recently moved into the top 10 in career rebounds with 929, passing Kara Wolters in 10th place at 927. Next up is Peggy Walsh with 937.

5 — Edwards has recorded a double-double in five straight games.

7 — Monday is UConn’s seventh and final game at the XL Center this season. The Huskies are 6-0 in the old mall so far.

61 — KK Arnold’s 61 steals are tied for ninth-most among freshman in program history with Lisa Fubio (1981-82).

1,203 — If UConn beats Creighton, Geno Auriemma will pass former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski and take over second place on the Division I basketball all-time wins list with 1,203.

2 — Ice Brady has reached double-digit points three times in her career. Two of those occasions have been in UConn’s last two games.

SPIDER STATS

Plus one for every assist block point rebound and steal. I don’t add extra for offensive rebounds as it already seems to favor the bigs. Minus one for every missed shot (2, 3 or foul), turnover or foul committed.

UConn 109, Georgetown 8.

Net positives/minutes played: Aaliyah 41/35, Paige 19/32, Ice 13/27, Ashlynn 13/30, Nika 11/34, Qadence 6/7, KK 3/28, Ines -1/5, Amari -1/2.

Got home late as grandson in from Chicago stayed late getting autographs from almost the whole team as well as catching two tee shirts and getting 2 Dunkin’ gift cards. Thanks Bill!!

Best postgame ever!!! Although a source in the know told me Nika won’t be back. Geno clearly right about only seven.

Beat Creighton!!
