Not gonna write about the game in this blog. I have to get up really really early to take my wife to the airport for a quick trip back to Connecticut and we had a crazy Wednesday night with a health scare for my cousin who is visiting in Florida. I'll spare you the details but thank God she is ok.

Well, another 1 seed bites the dust. What will SECreme do now?
No. 3 Texas lost to No. 20 Oklahoma ina crazy finish!
Madison Booker made the second of two free throws for Texas to give them a 70-67 point lead. This was with 50 seconds left.
Oklahoma took a three points with 35 seconds left and missed. They got the offensive rebound and missed another three pointer with 29 seconds left. They got another offensive rebounds and was fouled with 24 seconds left.
Oklahoma hit the first free throw to make it 70-68. They missed the second free throw and got ANOTHER offensive rebound. They missed a layup to tie and Texas got the rebound. BUT they turned the call over and Oklahoma had the ball down 2 points with 15 seconds left.
They missed the typing jumper but got ANOTHER offensive rebound. Oklahoma hit a three pointer to take the 71-70 lead with 4.5 seconds left. Texas missed their own buzzer beater and Oklahoma wins the Big 12 Conference championship.

The latest is out and UConn didn't move from a 3 seed in spite of being No. 2 in NET rankings and No. 2 in Massey.
Correction - Tennessee lost to LSU by 15 points at home and SECreme moved them from a 10 seed to an 9 seed. Huh??

Where should UConn be ranked?
Phil wrote this about Texas. Now they have lost to Oklahoma. UConn should be ahead of them for sure!
Texas
Texas is ranked third in the NET. Yes, behind UConn. It would be nice to say case closed but we know UConn lost to Texas so we’ve got more work to do.
UConn’s loss to Texas came back in December when Rori Harmon was still playing. She didn’t just play, she had 27 points and 13 assists. And if we meet again, she won’t be in the game. Texas struggled a bit after losing Harmon and has come back strong, but UConn has dealt with player losses of their own and are getting strong as well.
Texas has a weaker strength of schedule than many of the top teams — ranked number 24. That shows up in the fact that Texas has only played 11 quadrant one games and only won eight of them.
UConn has more quadrant one wins and more quadrant one games and a much better strength of schedule.
The Massey matchup tool can be used to project a game result on a neutral court. It projects UConn beating Texas 71 – 68. That’s a close call but on most metrics, UConn has the edge. Texas obviously has the head-to-head result but given the loss of Harmon that is almost a meaningless data point.
Milestone Watch
• Aaliyah Edwards now has 966 rebounds with 11 against Villanova. She now needs 41 to catch Gabby Williams in 8th place.
• Nika Mühl had 618 assists after her 6 assists in the Villanova game. She is in 5th place and needs 14 more to tie Renee Montgomery.
• Geno now has 1205 wins.
Plus one for every assist block point rebound and steal. I don’t add extra for offensive rebounds as it already seems to favor the bigs. Minus one for every missed shot (2, 3 or foul), turnover or foul committed.
