GO UCONN!!!!!
The Boys and their Dogs -
Under the UConn blanket!!

Paige Bueckers, Nika Muhl, Aaliyah Edwards, Azzi Fudd, Caroline Ducharme, Amari DeBerry, Ines Bettencourt, Jana El Alfy, Ashlynn Shade, KK Arnold and Qaudence Samuels all achieved grade-point averages of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester.
What a great accomplishment for these eleven young women. So proud.
Geno - “I think it’s quite an accomplishment, when you go to college and you play basketball or any other major sport with all the demands on it and you’re still able to have the same level of success, some kids even more so, in the classroom. That means a lot to me and to our program. It’s a promise you make to their parents and you want to deliver on it.”
Paige - “It (takes) extreme focus on time management and maximizing our free times and off days. Getting work done on those days so practice days and full class days aren’t as loaded.”
KK - “It was a big thing (in recruiting). Meeting with our academic advisor that was a big emphasis in how much time we’d be spending off the court. Having study hall after practices or when we come back from road trips, it helps us in terms of studying during the day if we have a game. Those things helped the whole freshman group as far as us adjusting to the college level.”

Straight from the Dog
I just love when the Top 16 is reveals, one of the teams loses.
Here is the Top 16 in order - South Carolina, Ohio State, Stanford, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Texas, Iowa, USC, LSU, UConn, NC State, Oregon State, Colorado, Indiana, Gonzaga and Oklahoma.
Already on Thursday night the 5th ranked team lost. Virginia Tech (ranked No. 5 in the AP poll as well), who should have been lower to begin with, lost to Notre Dame 71-58. The Irish led pretty much the entire game.
The last No. 2 seed is USC and they were taken to double overtime by unranked Arizona. They were fortunate to win the game. No friggin' way are they a 2 seed ahead of UConn. Please....
Can't add much more than what these talking heads had to say about it. Clark is an amazing talent. Her range on her three point shot is unparalleled. It's not even close. The Indiana Fever have the first pick and there is no doubt that will be Caitlin Clark. Her college fans are only a 5 hour drive to the Fever arena. You can bet they will come to watch her play and she will create a ton more fans. While it's not necessarily the best way to win, I hope the coach of the Fever Christie Sides will just left Clark be Clark. I know I will tune in to watch any televised games.

Milestone Watch
• Aaliyah Edwards now has 966 rebounds with 11 against Villanova. She now needs 41 to catch Gabby Williams in 8th place.
• Nika Mühl had 618 assists after her 6 assists in the Villanova game. She is in 5th place and needs 14 more to tie Renee Montgomery.
• Geno now has 1205 wins.
Plus one for every assist block point rebound and steal. I don’t add extra for offensive rebounds as it already seems to favor the bigs. Minus one for every missed shot (2, 3 or foul), turnover or foul committed.
UConn 72, Villanova 20.
Net positives/minutes played: Paige 27/34, Aaliyah 15/39, KK 10/40, Qadence 6/13, Nika 4/28, Ashlynn 2/40, Ines 0/1, Ice 0/5.
Harrowing drive home in the downpour from Storrs to Hartford.
Isn’t Paige awesome? Villanova cut it to seven, UConn calls time out, Bill says only two players should shoot for UConn (meaning Paige and Aaliyah). What happens? Field goal Nika, two foul shots Paige, field goal Nika, 3 pointer Ashlynn assisted by KK. Guess we got a team.
Aaliyah was clobbered right in front of us and knocked into the table-ridiculous no call.
Game highlight: KK dancing in the stands with the students. Irrepressible!
Go UConn, fry the friars!
