Updated info on Syracuse -
Grad Student Alaina Rice, a starting guard for the Orange who averages 9.8 PPG hit her head on the floor against Arizona and didn't return to the game. She is questionable for the game against UConn. She did not practice on Sunday. This is a big loss to the rotation and it will be interesting to see who they use to replace her. Probably Kennedi Perkins, a 5'6" sophomore guard.
And Nika on guarding Fair - She thought St. Johns point guard Unique Drake had some similarities to Fair.
“I feel like she’s kind of similar to her in terms of being an aggressive, smart guard. Just very shifty, aggressive in the lane, can shoot from, you know, behind the arc.”
“(Fair is) not the same player. Every player is different. Every player is unique. But I would say that’s a very similar matchup that we’ve had this year”.

Milestone Watch
• Aaliyah Edwards had 20 points in the Jackson State game, which brings her to a career total of 1786 points. She remains in sole possession of 18th place. She now needs 11 points to catch Stefanie Dolson.
• Nika Mühl has 658 assists after her 7 assists in the Jackson State game. She is in second place all-time! She needs ONE more to tie Moriah Jefferson!
• Paige Bueckers now has 753 points this season. That moves her past Maya Moore(2010) and Katie Lou Samuelson(2017) and moves her into 6th for points in a single season by a UConn player. She needs ONE more to tie Maya Moore’s 754 in the 2008-09 season and Napheesa Collier in the 2016-17 season.
• Geno now has 1210 wins.

Plus one for every assist block point rebound and steal. I don’t add extra for offensive rebounds as it already seems to favor the bigs. Minus one for every missed shot (2, 3 or foul), turnover or foul committed.
