On the main UConn message board, they were talking about who will be covering the USF players during the game Tuesday night. I guess they didn't read my Pre Game Blog. Well, how could they. The moderators won't let them link to my blog because I am not a "credentialed" reporter. Crazy, huh. There are hundreds of UConn fans there that would benefit from reading my pre game reports. They might even like my dailies. Oh well....their loss.
So, in this discussion, it's clear they don't know much about any of the players other than Laksa. It makes sense they wouldn't. The other four starters are pretty unknown to much of the world of WCBB.
The most interesting comment was where one fan said that because Pujol is the tallest player at 6'1" that Collier will guard her and in the same post said that Nurse and Chong will cover the two guards, whoever they are. Well, the problem with that is that while she is 6'1" tall, Pujol IS one of the two guards. And if you watched a few minutes of USF game videos you would see that her ball handling skills don't match up well with Collier. It's not even close to the matchup that Geno want.
The dumbest comment was when one poster had KLS covering Ferreira. Nice idea if Ferreira wasn't wearing a boot and not playing. Word out of South Florida is that she might be done for the season. Henshaw, the freshman starts.
While playing their man-to-man, my guess is that Chong will cover their PG, 5'7" Flores, Nurse will cover the 6'1" guard Pujol, Collier will guard the bulky 6'1" freshman forward Henshaw, Samuelson will cover the 6'1" Jesperson and finally, Gabby Williams will cover the 6' wing Laksa.
The matchups are really good for UConn. USF will only bring a forward off the bench. And UConn will play Dangerfield plenty of minutes against Flores, who will be playing 40 minutes.

In no surprise, Kentucky has fallen out of the top 25. It's hard to imagine them winning enough to get back in. They were in the top 25 poll an amazing 132 consecutive week. Well behind UConn's current streak of 441 and the all time streak by Tennessee of 565. I believe it will take 6 more seasons after this one for UConn to catch and pass Tennessee. It will happen.
