Played golf today. Not a great round. Only a 92. But hey.....it's golf in January.

Playing again Wednesday. Hope to do better!

UConn 102 South Florida 37. Really. A 65 point margin.

Wow. I am just so stunned about this performance I don't even know what to write. Ok....maybe not that stunned, but....wow.

Geno was just so giddy at the half. Yes, I'll say that again. GIDDY! I don't think I have seen him smile that hard. I will save his halftime quote for my post game report.

Every player that saw minutes contributed. It was just amazing to see how efficient they were. I believe they had 21 assists on 26 baskets in the first half.

A special shout out to Sanyia Chong, who I have been begging to take more shots. She did in this game scoring a career high 20 points.

I'll put together my post game report as soon as I can. It's going to be impossible for me to decide what pictures to use. There were just so many highlights!

It might be a late night for DoggyDaddy.

Texas is showing everyone that they deserve their No. 16 ranking winning their 9th consecutive game, beating up Oklahoma State 66-35.

They had a tough start, but their tough early schedule has helped them in the Big 12. We will see how they do against Baylor. Not much success in the recent games.

No. 11 Ohio State ran into a buzz saw when they went into Michigan State and lost 94-75. The poor defense of Ohio State is going to mean an early exit in the NCAA tournament. Yes, an early season prediction. You heard it here first.

I'm sure there will be some fans pointing out the 65 point margin of victory for UConn and say......See? UConn runs up big scores again.

Let me destroy that idea right here and right now.

UConn scored 65 points in the first half. They scored 37 in the second half. They also played the bench plus one starter for the first six and a half minutes of the 4th quarter and for the last three and a half minutes of the 4th  quarter, they added the final player off the bench.

They also played almost exclusively a half court offense. They didn't press, they didn't run.

No, this was not a Baylor situation.

Despite a tough first 14 games this season, UConn is undefeated and dominating opponents on the scoreboard and in the stats. For example, the Huskies have 296 assists versus 148 for opponents. That is literally twice what opponents have been able to do. Another "twofer" is in made free throws, 184 to 90, in favor of UConn. 8-)

Other key stats the Huskies dominate are made three point shots (105 vs 71), total rebounds (526 vs 460) and steals (134 vs 111). In  some cases, less is better. UConn has fewer turnovers (200 vs 255) and fewer personal fouls (187 vs 246). Blocked shots is the only stat that is really close with the Huskies at 53 and opponents with 49.

Of course, at the end of the game, the only statistic that matters is scoring and points. UConn has made 426 baskets vs 317 for opponents. Along with free throws, that gives the Huskies a 346 point advantage in scoring. Divided by 14 games, UConn has a 24.7 point average margin of victory. In the first period alone, the Huskies have scored 141 more points than opponents, for an average lead of 10 points.

This year's team, like those in the past, takes pride in doing the little things right. Making the extra pass or fighting for that defensive rebound on every play, develops habits that win games and brings home National Championships. It shows in their record and in the team's statistics. ;)

Go Huskies..!!
