Fun day of golf. 43-43-86. One birdie! Absolutely not a cloud in the sky and 80 degrees. I saw both my granddaughters today.
Doesn't get better than this!

Well, actually it does. UConn beat up on East Carolina again Tuesday night winning 91-44 in a dominating effort. Here are my highlights.
Number one HAS to be Gabby Williams and her triple-double. She had 16 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists. You could smell this game coming. This time Geno left her in the game into the fourth quarter to get her last two assists. On one level I'm glad he did. Gabby works so hard, you'd like to see her rewarded. It's a big deal being only the 5th triple-double in UConn history. On the other hand, it was an unnecessary risk exposing her to possible injury. It all worked out.
Congrats to Kia Nurse on being the 42nd player to score 1000 points for UConn.
34th consecutive road win, an NCAA and UConn record!
Lou had an off night shooting. And she still scored 20 points. She also had 3 assists and showed a little sloppiness with her three turnovers. Not her best game.
I think the second biggest story in this game after Williams triple-double was the play of the bench.
Still without Dangerfield, the 4 bench players looked great in this game.
Butler had 11 points and 6 rebounds and hit the basket off a Williams feed that completed the triple-double. She hit her short jumpers, made a few nice post moves and hustled all over the court.
Irwin looked great as well, making two great post moves for layups and was fouled while shooting two other times making 3-4 free throws. If she had hit that three pointer she took, it would have blown me away!
Bent is showing the aggressiveness that Geno is looking for. She took two pull up jumpers and looked great doing it. Too bad she missed them both. She made a GREAT post entry pass to Irwin and had three assists. Some nice ball handling as well.
Lawlor looked like she belonged. And she was ripped off for her chance to score when the official did not have her in the act of shooting when she was fouled. It was a missed call by the ref.
The bench just played really well, consistently running the offense even if they didn't end up scoring.
Collier was terrific as well. Loved her three blocks.
UConn played a lot of zone in this game. It's clear they are working hard on perfecting this defense. The switching when they play their man-to-man defense is just incredible. It's so seamless and effortless.
UConn is back home going up against Houston, who has lost five in a row going into their Wednesday night game against Memphis before meeting the Huskies.

In their last six games against AAC opponents, UConn has scored 569 points. They have scored 100 or more points twice, in the 90's three times and 88 once. Their average for those six games was 94.8 points per game.
Defensively, the Huskies have allowed just 48.3 points per game. That makes the average margin of victory an amazing 46.5 per game. In other words, the Huskies are almost scoring twice as much opponents.
Imagine playing a season of AAC opponents...!
Go Huskies..!!
