    Gotta love it!!!!

         ******************************************************************************

I always try to admit when I'm wrong. And when I'm wrong.....I'm wrong.

Bianca Cuevas, guard for South Carolina, is a player. Now, I'm still not sure how she will react to the UConn defense. But she certainly has been getting better and better. Tonight she was terrific, hitting three's, pull ups, drives to the basket, nice passes, steals. She did it all against Georgia Thursday night.

I'm looking forward to seeing Cuevas and Jefferson match up. Two of the quickest players in WCBB.

Speaking of South Carolina, they handled No. 22 Georgia fairly easily Thursday night, 58-35.

Either Georgia is way overrated, or WCBB is really bad this year. I know they lost their leading scorer a few weeks ago. And another top player was suspended one game. But they are just a terrible team. How terrible tonight? Check my UGGY section and you will find out.

South Carolina was as unimpressive a top ranked team as I have seen in a long time. 58 points, 39% from the field, 18 TO's. Two players in double figures. Their star freshman forgot to show up as she scored 2 points, had 6 turnovers before fouling out. If Georgia can hold them to 58 points, I can only imagine what the best defense in WCBB will do.

Alana Coates was benched in this game for a violation of team rules. Looks like it's an SEC thing. But so close to the UConn game and she does something that would cause a one game suspension? I read where an SC fan said Dawn does this to get the players attention like Geno does with his public comments about players. That's a good one...huh.

I didn't see anything in this game that changed my mind about Monday's matchup.

    Ugly Game Of The Day

How could I not pick the Georgia Bulldogs for the UGGY.

They scored only 35 points. They shot 20.7% (12-58) from the field and 10.5% (2-19) on three's. They added in 17 turnovers. I happened to watch this game and they were even worse than the stats showed.

This is the 22nd ranked team in the country? Embarrassing. If I could deliver the UGGY in person I would but I'm afraid I might turn to stone if I looked at them.

    Honorable Mention

    Davidson Wildcats - 35 points, 26.7% from the field, 20% on three's, 21 turnovers
    Nebraska Cornhuskers -  43 points, 22.1% from the field, 16.7% on three's, 14 turnovers
Virginia Tech Hokies - 39 points,  24% from the field, 8% on three's, 18 turnovers

    1. Let's just hope that SCar doesn't play to the talent level of their opponent. ND has done this in the past as well, where they play crappy against lesser talent and then step up their game when tough competition comes along. Still, it would be fun if I am wrong.
