UConn Huskies | 5-foot-11 | freshman
2020-21 stats: 19.7 PPG, 6.1 APG, 53.9 field goal percentage
It has been a few years since a player entered college and took the country by storm as quickly as Bueckers has. With three straight 30-point games, a clutch 3-pointer in the final minute against Tennessee and UConn's final 13 points in an overtime win over South Carolina, Bueckers has already rung up a career's worth of signature moments. She led the Big East in assists, was fourth in scoring, and finished in the top five of six other statistical categories. According to ESPN Stats & Information, and assuming UConn is a No. 1 seed come Monday, Bueckers will become the sixth freshman since 2000 to lead a No. 1 seed in scoring entering the NCAA tournament. None of the others were able to lead their teams to the title. Will Bueckers become the first?

1. As a freshman, Christyn had 86 assists and averaged 11.7 points per game. Her point total was 5th on the team.
2. Napheesa and Katie Lou led that team in scoring with 1,422 total points.
3. As a sophomore, Christyn had 72 assists and averaged 14.6 points per game. She was 3rd on the team in scoring.
4. Megan and Crystal led that team in scoring with 1,078 combined points.
5. This year, Christyn has 56 assists and is averaging 15.8 points per game. Her point total is 2nd on the team.
Christyn has not been the point guard on any UConn team. It was Crystal Dangerfield for 2 years and Paige/Nika this year. Despite that, she has 214 career assists. Her role has changed in her 3 years as a Huskie. She went from 5th in scoring, to 3rd in scoring, to 2nd in scoring. As she scores more, her assist totals have declined from 86, to 72, to 56. Of course they have, SHE IS SHOOTING MORE!!
Christyn averaged 32 minutes per game as a freshman, 35.6 per game as a sophomore and 34.2 this year. What does Geno know that some "fans" are missing? What role does he need her to play this season?
Go Huskies..!!
