I told Logan that Coach Geno and Coach Shea will miss the first two games of the tournament.

The other Naismith finalists are Rhyne Howard (Kentucky), Aliyah Boston (South Carolina) and Dana Evans (Louisville). I really like Paige's chances here.

And in case you don't remember how good she has been........

In a post on a UConn message board from my friend Joan, there is a possible verbal from a recruit in this 2022 class to add to "Ice" Brady.

Geno spoke at the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce breakfast on Monday morning. This is an annual event for Geno, always a few days before the NCAA tournament. This year's event was virtual and a video of the event has been posted in another thread. During the Q & A Geno mentioned that he has 2 commits from the class of 2022 and expects 1 or 2 more. We know Ice Brady is one of the commits but we don't know yet who is the 2nd commit. Timing suggests it may be Patterson -- UConn is one of 5 finalists and she announces on Saturday -- but we don't really know for sure.

If you don't know who the  A 6'3" forward Ayanna Patterson is, I'll give you a quick preview. She is ranked the No. 3 prospect in the 2022 class by ESPN.  No. 8 by ASGR. No. 2 by Prospects Nation. No. 6 by Bluestar.

From ESPN.COM - Athletic forward prospect knocks down mid-range jumpers in traffic; quick-leaper, pounds the glass, visits the charity stripe with consistency; explosive in the paint, delivers results with consistency; versatile defender.

And of course, here is a video.

Oklahoma head coach Sherri Coale is retiring. One of my all time favorite coaches, it hasn't been easy for her over the last several season. She had some really good teams in the past, not so much lately.

Best of luck to Sherri in whatever she looks to do in her future. Thanks for the memories!

Many UConn fans see Baylor as the biggest obstacle in the path of the Huskies winning the National Championship this season. Others argue Baylor lacks the outside shooting to beat the Huskies. How has Baylor shot the ball from beyond the arc compsred to UConn? Consider:

1. Baylor only took 286 threes vs UConn's 489 attempts. That is a 203 shot difference.
2. Baylor made 93 threes, 32.5%.
3. UConn made 170 threes, 34.8%.
4. Only 3 players on Baylor have made more than 7 threes. UConn have 5 players with 10 or more.
5. The Baylor player with the most tries (113) has made 30%.
6. The UConn player with the most tries (116) has made 47.4%.
7. We have Paige and Nika and they don't.

There are many games to play before any UConn vs Baylor matchup. Assuming both teams take care of business prior to any meeting, I like UConn's chances against the Lady Bears.

Go Huskies..!!
