Today was just nuts. I'm so tired. I worked from 7:30-4:30, on my feet, filling bags with Passover dinners and then filling my car with the bags and driving them from West Hartford to Springfield Mass. Three time!

I'm too old for this.

For UConn

ESPN had an article today about the tournament. And until the predictions for the Sweet Sixteen games, no mention of UConn. Not one.

Now, I don't believe UConn needs to be the be all end all and be mentioned in every article. Ok...maybe I do think that. But still...

Which team is your front  runner now?

Adelson - Maryland, Vopel - Stanford, Creme - Baylor, Young - Maryland

Gotta love Creme's reasoning for picking Baylor. They have the largest margin of victory so far. 91 points in their two games. UConn only had a 79 point MOV. Wow. Huge difference (Insert sarcasm). As we all know, Baylor is known for pouring it on when  way ahead. And as if MOV is an indicator of future performance. Just a stupid comment by Creme.

Which Sweet 16 game are you most looking forward to?

Adleson - Arizona-Texas A&M, Vopel - Louisville-Oregon, Creme - NC State-Indiana, Young - Louisville-Oregon

Oh please, no one mentioned the Paige Bueckers/Caitlin Clark match up as a game they are most looking forward to? I think they made a pact not to mention UConn.

Arizona vs Texas A&M? Really?

At least they all picked UConn to beat Iowa. I hate ESPN.

The UConn vs Iowa game on Saturday is being billed as the showdown between Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark. In reality, it may come down to which of the two defenses plays better. The edge in a defensive comparison goes to the Huskies..!
Consider:

1. UConn held opponents to 50.7 points per game this season. Iowa's defense gave up 80.2 pts per game.
2. UConn blocked 153 shots or almost 10% of the total taken.  Iowa blocked 75 or 3.9%.
3. Opponents shot 44.5% against Iowa, while UConn held opponents to 32.9%.
4. Iowa gave up 365 offensive rebounds, UConn only 265.
5. Iowa stole the ball 195 times. UConn stole 271.
6. Iowa scored 93 points and lost. They also scored 87, 84, 82 and 80 and lost.
7. Opponents made 34.6% of their 3 point tries. For UConn, it was only 26.3%.

The Huskies defense is better than Iowa's defense. A lot better...

Go Huskies..!!

  1. YOu know, I am thinkin'....UConn games are getting the great ratings. Do you think their "UConn who?" approach to the winner of the S16 et al is to get folks to watch the other games? I think so. OR - folks are complaining that all they talk about is UConn...maybe because they are good or something, or have some great players....even the greatest. dunno.

  2. UConn rewarded your hard work with a win. And Michigan is making Baylor work too.
