Heading down to Florida to see our son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters. We haven't seen them in just over a year. I can't wait to hug them!

And of course.....

A little golf!!!

So, basically, blogging will be a challenge, but I will write when I can. I usually find a way to put something out there every day. Even if it's just a few links and David's wonderful pieces.

Getting this blog out early. We need to get to the airport really early for our 6:10 departure! Gotta get some.......

Someone got the message - Be more physical!!!

I don't know how noticeable it's been but Olivia Nelson-Ododa has been playing a much more physical game of late and it's been very beneficial for the Huskies. She is finishing through contact, fighting hard for post position and defending wider players in the post with more energy. I keep reading how teams with size will give UConn problems. That is at this time, an old wives tale. It's just not true anymore. An invigorated ONO and a tough no longer a freshman Edwards? Ready for any size that comes their way.

Consider the defensive stats for the 3 victories in the Big East tournament. They are impressive...

1. UConn gave up about 53 points per game this season. In the BE tournament, they held three teams to 39.6 points per game.
2. Total steals = 34 or 11.3 per game.
3. Opponents took 177 shots and missed 129 of those shots. That's 27.1% accuracy.
4. UConn blocked 14 shots.
5. The Huskies outrebounded opponents 129 to 84.
6. In the 1st quarter of the 3 games, UConn held opponents to 6, 10 and 10 points.
7. From outside the 3 pt arc, opponents made only 12 of 60 shots or 20%.

Defense led the Huskies to wins over St. John's, Villanova and Marquette. Not one of those games was close and CUonn is currently hitting on all cylinders.

And here is Part II. Maybe the best stat piece I've seen from David. Great work!!

The offensive stats for Paige and Christyn were very close in the 3 game Big East tournament. So close, these two may be twins reunited on the hardwood.
Consider:

1. Paige took 41 shots and CW took 42.
2. Paige made 23 of her shots while Christyn made 22.
3. Paige went 5-11 from three range, Christyn was 4-9.
4. Paige scored 58 points in the 3 games, Christyn scored 56.
5. Paige shot 56% from the field, CW shot 53%.
6. Together they scored 114 points. The 3 opponents scored 119 total.

Just the two of them almost outscored the 3 opponents. Their combined 114 points were scored on 54% shooting. Just a couple of twins celebrating on the basketball court..!

Go Huskies..!!
