If you read around the internet world, you'd see how folks believe that UConn's game against SMU is somehow an indictment of the entire AAC conference, the AAC is terrible and UConn's recruiting is doomed because of it. Who wants to go to a school that plays such terrible teams?Of course the top end of the AAC outside of UConn doesn't compare with the BE when ND and Louisville were in the conference. But.......
I'd just like to remind everyone that there were some TERRIBLE teams in the old big east that UConn DOMINATED for many many years. Beating teams by a ton didn't hurt them then. It won't hurt them now.
Here are just a few of those teams and the scores when UConn beat them by over 40 over the last 12 years.
2001-2 Providence 106-41, Seton Hall 92-40 (2)
2002-3 Seton Hall 84-44, Gtwn 97-57 (2)
2003-4 Pitt 97-42 (1)
2004-5 Prov 83-33, Pitt 89-53, Pitt 97-49 (3)
2005-6 GTwn 80-38 (1)
2006-7 Prov 96-53, Vill 92-49 (2)
2007-8 Vill 88-38, Seton Hall 82-36, St. Johns 98-41 (3)
2008-9 USF 83-37, Pitt 95-42 (2)
2009-10 Seton Hall 91-24, USF 84-42, Pitt 98-56, Louisville 84-38 (4)
2010-11 Vill 81-35 (1)
2011-12 Cinn 80-37, DePaul 88-44, Syracuse 95-54, Gtwn 80-38, Marq 85-45 (5)
2012-13 Marq 94-37, DePaul 91-44, Prov 105-49, Seton Hall 90-30, Pitt 76-36 (5)
Now, certainly the old BE was better than the current AAC. And there might be a few more of these games than in the past. But to use the SMU game as a reason the AAC will kill UConn and their recruiting is just silly. Sorry. Really silly.
Look at UConn's recruiting since the move to the AAC. 2015 class is amazing. 2016 has started out great. Even 2017 already has a top ten player committing to UConn. It hasn't slowed down one big since joining the AAC.
As long as Geno is there, getting great players will not be a problem, no matter what conference they are in. And he has 4 years left on his contract. Whoever he has on the roster if he leaves after that will be in great shape for a few years.
Now, when Geno leaves and whoever they hire struggles I'll start to worry. But with 4 more years on this contract and probably another 5 year contract after that before he retires, I'm feeling pretty good about the next 9 years.
To worry about it now is just looking for a reason to worry.
But I guess that is what some people do best!

Did anyone see that graphic comparing Stewart and Wilson during the South Carolina-Kentucky game Sunday? There was so much wrong with that.First, the top of the graphic had "guard comparison". They are guards? Not in our lifetime.
And to compare the Junior Stewart to the Freshman Wilson just by a few stats is well....just stupid.
I've now seen South Carolina and Wilson in about 5 full games. She is NOTHING like Stewart. I don't want to take anything away from her. Wilson is a very good player. But she is not even in the same world as Stewart at this time.
A fairer comparison might be their respective freshman years. But even then, Stewart's skill set was more advanced from what I can see.
And now we might have to hear this all the time. Wilson grabbed a rebound and dribbles up the court. The announcer (Burke?) called it "Parker like". You have got to be kidding me.

Ugly Game Of The Day
Only twenty three games to choose from on a very quiet Division I WCBB schedule. But there were a few UGLY games to choose from. The winner tonight is...........
Chattanooga at Furman
Yes, the same Chattanooga team that beat Tennessee and Stanford this year against fellow Southern Conference member Furman.
The final score was ugly enough with a 47-40 final. Here are the gory details.
Chattanooga shot 29.7% from the field and 26.7% on 3's. They still won because Furman was even more inept. They did shoot better from the field 34.5% but hit only 23.1% of their threes and had 19 TO's.
I'm sure the crowd of 667 thought this game was well deserving of the DoggyDaddy's UGOTD award.
