I really enjoyed the Notre Dame Tennessee game tonight. A fun, competitive game where the team I love to hate lost to the team I love to watch lose. I couldn't lose either way. I will pat myself on my back for calling this game pretty well.

"Tennessee has won with it's defense this year. All their defensive stats compared to last year are better. Points allowed, FG percentages, blocks, steals. But all their offensive stats are worse. Points per game, shooting percentages.

Notre Dame has, at times, been an explosive offense. Loyd is dynamic and Allen and Turner can add points in a hurry. They score a lot of points, ranked in the top 5 in the country.

So, who's strength wins out? I have to go with Notre Dame at home. Harrison is prone to foul trouble and in Purcell Pavilion I don't think she will get many calls. Without her, Tennessee will really struggle.

There are too many things that have to go right for Tennesse to win, let alone keep it close. Their guards have to hit the outside shot, their frontcourt has to stay out of foul trouble, their defense has to be able to slow down Notre Dame, their press has to cause a lot of turnovers. I just don't see it happening.

Notre Dame by 12+."

The game was fun because it was competitive. Lots of talented players on both teams.

No. 8 Texas not only lost big to No. 3 Baylor, 75-58, but they lost one of their best players in forward Nneka Enemkpali. She is a rebounding machine and had grabbed 6 rebounds in 12 minutes before injuring her left knee. It doesn't sound good. This is a huge loss for the Longhorns.

Ugly Game Of The Day

Usually, the winner of this award does so by shooting a horrible percentage from the field and from beyond the arc. And tonight's winner is no exception.

In their 75-36 loss to Hampton, the North Carolina Central Eagles shot 28% from the field and 20% from the three point line. But what separates them from the rest of the uglies is their 33 turnovers. Now that is what I call UGLY.

So congrats NCC eagles......on a well deserved UGOFD award.
