This is the best Katie Lou Samuelson video I have seen. What a great player and person UConn is getting in 2016. There is a possibility that UConn will have the best player in the country all four years she is there. Stewart in 2016-17 and Samuelson the next three.

I had a chance to watch No. 1 South Carolina take on visiting No. 12 Texas A&M.
A&M started the season ranked 5th, won their first 11 games and moved into 4th spot in the AP poll. Since then, they have gone 5-5, losing to 4 ranked teams in the process. This team just doesn't score. In their last 6 games they have scored 52, 58, 55, 58, 51 and 61 points. And with the size of South Carolina up front, this was a BAD matchup for the Aggies.
The game looked like a typical SEC game, not a lot of offensive execution, sloppy play, physical defense and the two teams battled back and forth for the opening 12 minutes. Tied 20-20 A&M grabbed a 4 point lead before South Carolina went on a 14-0 run over the next 5 minutes as the Aggies went 0-5 from the field with 3 turnovers over their next 8 possessions. Jordan Jones hit a jumper to close the scoring of the half with South Carolina holding on to an eight point lead 39-31.
Texas A&M started the second half on a 7-1 run to close to 40-38 but then All-American Tiffany Mitchel took over, scoring the next 4 points and assisting on two others. From that point on, it was a slow, methodical drubbing by the No. 1 Gamecocks as they stretched out the lead to double digits. Their superiority in the paint was evident throughout the game. 48 points by their front line and 22 rebounds.
One unusual stat. Courtney Williams shot 3-21, 14% from the field. The rest of the team shot 21-41, over 50%. It wasn't like Williams took a bunch of bad shots. She just missed most of them.
I think it's pretty clear that South Carolina is a very good team. How good has yet to be determined. They certainly weren't impressive in this game. They had more turnovers than assists. They were one dimensional on offense. I'm still not sure how good their defense is. They have depth as they played 9 players in this game double digit minutes. But how much will that depth come into play against their toughest opponents coming up in UConn and Tennessee?
I certainly can see them getting to the final four this season. And in two weeks we will see how they match up with UConn.
Ugly Game Of The Day
Chattanooga celebrated it's entry into the top twenty five by holding Samford to 32 points.
The Bulldogs shot 32 percent from the field 20% from the 3 point line and 17 turnovers.
Congrats to the Samford Bulldogs for a very ugly performance in winning the Ugly game of the Week award.
