Lots of top 25 games Friday night, so lots of links to each game.
One upset tonight, but I'm not sure it really was. St. John's beat Seton Hall. Good job by the Johnnies in not looking ahead to UConn. As you will see in my game preview, St. John's struggles on offense but excels on defense and tonight was no different winning 59-50.

Notre Dame sneaked by Florida State tonight. FSU had played no one thus far this season in building a 13-1 record, losing to unranked Washington at home by 12. This is not the same ND team we have seen over the last few years. Only 9 assists on 27 baskets. Their bench contributes little and Mabrey seems to have regressed this season.

South Carolina handled a terrible Auburn team pretty unimpressively, winning by only 19, 77-58. They used their size advantage to it's fullest with their bigs scoring 46 of their points. Freshman A'ja Wilson loves to shoot, taking 17 shots but making only 6. Possible 1st team AA Tiffany Mitchell had an off night with 7 points on 1-7 shooting.
Senior Aleighsa Welch left for the hospital with a neck sprain midway through the second half and immediately the Tigers 48-40. She is day to day and questionable for the LSU game. Eventually, South Carolina was just too big and talented for Missouri.

Tennessee got past a Missouri team that previously lost to Missouri State 63-53. A "sparkling" game by Tennessee's offense. They do rebound well but their offense is just putrid. I mean really bad. 31% from the field. But their guards did get hot from beyond the line in the second half. Good for them for winning these kind of games. In fact, I'd say they were lucky to win this game. When a team that was hitting under 30% for the season on 3 point shots today hits 7 of 11 in the second half, it's out of their norm. Hey...maybe this is the start of a hot streak for Tennessee.....nahhhh......
For a while it looked like Harrison had gotten over her foul issues from last year, but she struggled big time in this game. And she was ejected for a flagrant 2 foul. I'll have to watch the reply and edit this once the game is on ESPN3. I was told she threw an elbow. Also, Nia Moore was ejected for leaving the bench. But in reality, it was a different player. One that actually sees minutes. More weird Tennessee homer officiating? Of course.
It looks to me that this team is primed for another early NCAA exit. Missouri is a team that UConn would beat by 40. Maybe so is Tennessee.
