GO UCONN!!!!!
***********************************************
Well, it's almost here. That crazy time we call Selection Sunday. Where we see how right and how wrong Charlie SECream was with his Bracetology. He is pretty good at picking the teams that make the tournament. Not always so great with where they go.
I love the excitement and the anticipation of who UConn will have to beat to get to the Final Four and finally get to that championship game.
The next time I blog we will have all those questions answered!!!!

Charlie SECreme's latest Bracketology has UConn as the 2 seed in the Bridgeport Region with poor North Carolina State as the 1 seed maybe having to play UConn in what will feel like a home game for the Huskies.
I'm loving his bracket for this region. He has UConn playing American, then the winner of Florida/South Florida. I don't see any issues with either of those two teams. In the Sweet Sixteen it more than likely would be either Michigan or Missouri/BYU. I like UConn's chances against any of those teams.
And finally, the Huskies would face one of these teams - Oklahoma, Oregon or North Carolina State.
Can't wait to see the real brackets so I can talk about UConn's march to the championship.

Straight from the Dog
Well, I got a good look at Baylor and they were what I expected. A team with a superstar in Nylissa Smith and a bunch of good players. The Bears beat up on Oklahoma in the second half, pulling away for a 91-76 win.
Smith scored 37 points and took 32 shots to do it. She hit 16 of them and grabbed 11 rebounds. She is one tough player to guard. I like to think that UConn's Edwards can play more like her, but after watching this game, believe it or not, I think that incoming freshman Ayanna Patterson can impacts games like Smith.

Thank you Texas. The Longhorns beat Iowa State in overtime 82-73 more than likely solidifying UConn's hold on the 2 seed in Bridgeport.
After watching these two team play, I have to say that the overall play for seeds as high as these two was very disappointing. My friend Phil pointed out that Iowa State scored a basket and the free-throw, to cut the Texas lead to two 63 – 61 with 4:15 left in the game. Both teams had four possessions not a single score for almost 4 minutes. Finally, 23 seconds left in the game, Iowa State ran a good play to free up Jordan for an uncontested layup to tie the game. Texas had plenty of time left to set up a play but didn't even have the rim so they went to overtime.

YAY PRINCETON. Ok...I really only like them because former UConn player Carla Berube is their head coach. They won the Ivy League Tournament Championship, beating Columbia 77-59. My favorite to transfer to UConn, Abby Meyers, scored 16 points.

UConn has taken 1,802 shots so far this season. Of that total, 615 or 34%, have been from beyond the three point arc. From three, the Huskies have made 210 or 34%. (Odd both % are 34) 😳 Clearly, Azzi Fudd is the best shooter from outside the arc at 43.7%. But who is the best shooter from inside the arc?
Oddly, it is not Fudd, who made 42 of 76 shots inside the arc. That is 55.3%. Good but not better than Caroline, who made 80-134 tries from inside the arc. That’s 59.7%. Ducharme has a whole variety of short, one handed shots near the basket & she makes most of her layups.
Even better than Caroline s Paige. She is 53-84 from closer in, or 63.1%. Is that the best? Nope, Olivia is even better. Yes, Liv has hit 101 of 157 shots for 64.3% accuracy. What about Aaliyah and Dorka? Are they better than Liv? Nope, Liya has made 101 of 189 or 53.4%. Dorka has made 54.8% (68 of 124).
So Liv, despite the criticism, is best in close and Paige and Caroline are 2nd and 3rd.
Go Huskies..!
