My oh My, what can I say. Maybe the best women's college basketball game I've ever seen. All the credit in the world to North Carolina State. A terrific and gutsy team. Like in the Notre Dame game, they always find a way to come back. They looked to have the game won in regulation, and the Huskies looked to have it won at the end of the first overtime. But at the end of the day, the play of Bueckers was the difference. There is no doubt that she is back. 100%. 44 minutes, 27 points,

But my heart is heavy for Dorka Juhasz. She fell on her wrist and it was a clean fracture and dislocation and she is done for the season. It's hard to believe the injury bug hit the Huskies again. I'm sure she is upset and happy at the same time. As if this team needs more motivation, but I'm sure they want to win for themselves and not for Dorka.

In a game like this, stats don't mean squat. Shooting percentage, rebounds, assists, turnovers. The numbers don't matter. It was the plays. Each big play on top of big play by both teams. UConn just had one more big play at the end to get the win.

I will have a big post game blog sometime tomorrow. I'll post plenty of links and post game vidoes if available.

Right now I'm so exhausted. I feel like I played 49 minutes like Fudd did. But when you are almost 70, just sitting on the couch watching this game would cause that.

Enjoy UConn fans. Tonight was something else.

I read a bunch of the UConn/NC State game thread and what a bunch of sore losers. I'll post some of their reactions during the week. Just know that they fulfilled their dream of hating on UConn. As you can imagine, they were pretty pathetic.

Broken Brackets

I was poking around the NCAA site and they had an article on broken brackets:

they tracked some contributors who manage to get the first 35 pics correct. Two of them promptly dropped out leaving only one contributor with a perfect bracket.

So is this someone who really knows the sport or is that just the case out of millions of quads are random entries, there’s going to be one person who gets a lot right by accident.

I will let you be the judge.

Here is what they picked for the games on Sunday. The first three were no surprise:

• South Carolina over Miami - no surprise
• Stanford over Kansas – no surprise
• Maryland over FGCU – no surprise

They also picked:

• Utah over Texas – missed by only 22 points
• Baylor over South Dakota – missed by only 14 points
• Gonzaga over Louisville – missed by only 9 points
• Georgia over Iowa State – missed by only 23 points

I get Baylor, but the other three, not so much. I guess I won’t be tracking down this fan to get lottery number picks.
