Straight from the Dog
I got to watch the Vanderbilt-Texas A&M game on the flight home and I was so happy for Shea Ralph getting her first SEC tournament win. They won this game mostly using a big 1st quarter lead and holding off several Texas A&M runs to close the gap. They ended up winning 85-69. They really looked like a UConn team with less talent. Great passing and really good help defense. If Shea can recruit some better talent, she will do damage in the SEC.
I felt bad for Coach Gary Blair, who's team was hammered in his last game of his wonderful career. He handled the loss so well. A great guy.

Charlie SECreme is finally seeing the light. And maybe reading my Blog.
"The NCAA selection committee's final top-16 reveal on Monday provided more surprises than either of the first two. The most notable? Indiana and Tennessee, which have combined to lose seven of their past nine games, remained on the list. Oregon, Notre Dame and North Carolina didn't make the cut, despite having better records in all the distinctive win categories (record vs. NET top 25, top 50, top 100) than the Hoosiers. Iowa moved into the top 16, which now includes four teams from the Big Ten and four from the Big 12. That makes bracketing a challenge and is the main reason UConn was once again placed outside the geographically friendly Bridgeport Regional. The Huskies' best chance to be placed there is to improve their seed. UConn was No. 9 overall on the committee's list Monday after being No. 11 in the reveal two weeks ago. With Paige Bueckers back, the Huskies are big favorites in the Big East tournament. Don't be surprised if UConn is a No. 2 seed and in the Bridgeport Regional after Championship Week."
Yep, he said it. Don't be surprised...lol.
If (to appease the MOJO gods) UConn wins the Big East tournement and goes into the NCAA tournament 25-5 and on 10 game winning streak and 16-1 in their last 17 games, I can't imagine that Charlies "prediction" not coming true. 2 seed and in Bridgeport.

It makes sense to have your best player shoot the most shots. Unfortunately, Paige has been hurt and played only 8 games. As a result, her total shots are only at 102. Good news is she made 58 of them (56.9%). So who is our most prolific shooter?
Christyn has taken an even 300 shots and leads the team. (She has made 46.7%.) What a difference between Paige's 56.9% and Christyn's 46.7%...! So who is 2nd? Surprise...it is Caroline Ducharme at 225 shots..!! (She made 46.2%) Here is the list of the top 9 shot takers:
1. Christyn - 300 shots
2. Caroline - 225
3. Evina - 210
4. Aaliyah - 169
5. Dorka - 158
6. Olivia - 156
7. Azzi - 1528
8. Paige - 102
9. Nika - 99
Amari and Piath are at 29 and 27.
The best shooting % overall is Olivia at 60.9%, Paige at 56.9%, Aaliyah at 52.1% and Azzi at 51.3%. Paige and Azzi take lots of threes, so their numbers are skewed a bit. Most likely, in the Big East tournament and NCAA tourny, the better shooters will take the most shots. With Azzi starting and Paige healthy, that makes sense. Christyn is best driving to the hoop, Caroline is deadly posting up smaller defenders and Dorka works best in very close. Above all, run, run and run some more...
