Straight from the Dog

Friday's games are almost here. Doggy has a few predictions!!

1 seed South Carolina vs 5 seed North Carolina - Love it! A battle for Carolina. But it won't be all that fun for the Tarheels. South Carolina will be looking for a bounce back performance after winning a sloppy game in the prior round. However, if North Carolina can keep it close? Hmmmmm.....

3 seed Iowa State vs 10 seed Creighton. GO BIG EAST. I really believe the Blue Jays have a good shot at winning this game. I just don't think that the Cyclones are that good. And I love how Creighton plays. Go with the underdog in this one.

2 seed Texas vs 6 seed Ohio State. The Buckeyes fortune runs out against the Longhorns. Vic Schaffer will will his team to victory. That and the terrific freshman guard Rory Harmons for Texas will push the Longhorns to the Eliete Eight.

1 seed Stanford vs 4 seed Maryland. I just can't wait to watch this game. Lots of great players in this one. It's all about the Stanford defense slowing down the Maryland explosive offense. I really don't like either team, but I'd love to see an upset. I'd love it, but I don't think we will see it. Stanford is a really good team.

One of the more interesting stats from the UCF game/fight, was the shooting numbers for UCF. They managed to make 5-10 three point shots for a 50% average. At the same time, they only made 10-20 from the free throw line. That is also 50%. Maybe they should move back from the charity stripe and take the shot from the 3 line...?  8-)

The number 10 shows up in UCF's stats everywhere. For example, in addition to 10 threes and 10 made free throws, UCF had 10 shots blocked. They also had 10 offensive rebounds & Tay Sanders scored 10 points. How about the number 20? Yes, 20 free throws and 20 turnovers. The final odd stat is the number 11. UCF took exactly 11 shots in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th periods. UConn also took exactly 11 shots in the 3rd and 4th periods. weird...

Go Huskies..!!
