Perspective - Yes, I posted about this yesterday and there was only Top 25 one game on the schedule with No. 9 LSU visiting Mississippi State. 

Well,  guess what. MSU took it to the supposedly put together Supersteam LSU winning 77-73. 

As many thought, Haley Van Lith is just not a superstar point guard. In this game she was 1-6 from the field for 4 points and only 2 assists and 3 turnovers. LSU will need a lot more from her to go far in the NCAA tournament. 

Morrow was 6-18 in this game for 14 points and 6 rebounds. Meh.

Milestone watch

• Aaliyah Edwards reached 1549 career points with her 23 points in the Notre Dame game. She passed Moriah Jefferson, Cathy Bochain, and Jennifer Rizzotti. She needs three points to tie Wendy Davis in 24th place

• Aaliyah Edwards now has 856 rebounds with 11 against Notre Dame. She is in sole possession of 14th place, and needs 41 more to catch Olivia Nelson-Ododa

• Nika Mühl had 559 assists after her 3 assists in the Notre Dame game. She is in sole possession of 8th place. She is tied with Bria Hartley for 7th place.
• Geno Auriemma now has 1197 wins and needs three more to reach the 1200 plateau.

Plus one for every assist block point rebound and steal. I don’t add extra for offensive rebounds as it already seems to favor the bigs. Minus one for every missed shot (2, 3 or foul), turnover or foul committed.

Notre Dame 78, UConn 55

Net positives/minutes played: Hidalgo 31/40, Westbeld 23/40, Citron 15/40.

Aaliyah 32/40, Paige 11/37, Ashlynn 8/40, KK 3/39, Nika 1/19, Qadence -1/7, Ice -3/18.

Citron Nikaed Paige. Hidalgo spectacular, but look at Aaliyah’s numbers! Were we outcoached?

The ESPN play by play doesn’t show substitutions, but I bet we won during the time all five starters were playing together. Missed Aubrey tonight.

Silver lining of Covid: prevented me from being there. Looking forward to the rest of the season, with the exception of one game.
