Straight from the Dog
Well, another poll and another controversy.
UConn blew out two Big East opponents including ranked Creighton and they dropped from No. 12 to No. 13.
UConn is No 4 in the NCAA's NET rankings.
UConn moved up one position to No 7 in Massey.
UConn remains a clear No 1 in the RPI
Three different data-based ranking systems have UConn at 1,4 & 7. The subjective poll, voted on by regional writers with various self-interests has them at 13.
Our friend Phil put it best.
"I don't view it as UConn dropping a spot but Virginia Tech moving up three spots. Mathematically that may not be much of a distinction, but it's possible to tease out the distinction. First, in general when Team A moves up relative to Team B that could be team A moving up, team B moving down, some combination or something even more complicated.
For example, in week nine, UConn had 469 points. In week 10 UConn had 487 points. That's up 18 points, very close to half a rank per voter.
In other words, UConn moved up, but Virginia Tech moved up even more. I disagree with the AP voters but my main disagreement is UConn ought to be closer to eighth or seventh. They just moved up to seventh in Massey and 4th in NET.
If they were up where they belonged Virginia Tech's moving up (which is warranted) would not of affected UConn."

I talked about the great passing from Nika and Paige. And that is to be expected with such experienced players. But to see these young players make such great plays...well, it's just so exciting to see. The future is so bright!!! Check out this freshman to freshman pass. It's mind blowing!

Milestone watch
Plus one for every assist block point rebound and steal. I don’t add extra for offensive rebounds as it already seems to favor the bigs. Minus one for every missed shot (2, 3 or foul), turnover or foul committed.
UConn 95 Georgetown 35.
Net positives/minutes played: Nika 23/29, Aaliyah 22/26, KK 18/30, Paige 16/28, Ashlynn 15/39, Qadence 4/16, Amari -1/3, Ice -2/22, Ines -3/7.
Arnold, Bueckers, Samuels: 5 rebounds each. Brady 2 rebounds.
Heck of a starting five! Minutes well distributed, Iron Woman award to Ashlynn. Great to see Nika lead the spider stats.
Go Huskies!!
