Well, call me crazy but we are flying back to Connecticut Friday and coming back to Florida on Thursday. Just in time for the snow storm. My wife is happy. I'm not. But we will make the best of it. The grandkids are sleeping over Friday night, we will have dinner with my daughter and son-in-law too. Then seeing some friends and more family during the week. My highlight is taking my daughter and the boys to the UConn game on Wednesday against Providence. Getting up at 5:00 AM on Friday for an early flight so this blog might be a litlle short in content.

Straight from the Dog
Newly entering the Top 25, No. 24 Syracuse, fresh off a big 86-81 win against Notre Dame lost to unranked North Carolina 75-51. This makes the Notre Dame loss even worse for the Irish.
Thursday night, 16 Notre Dame was able to beat unranked Pittsburgh 71-66. It took a 24-18 fourth quarter to win against a really bad Pittsburgh team. The more I see Notre Dame play the more I feel good about UConn's chances against them.

“Maybe it's the California (in her), but she wants to be another 6-3 guard like Katie Lou (Samuelson). She doesn't understand that's not going to make it for her. We're trying to get her to embrace being in the lane more.”
“I thought today was her best game. I thought she gave us some great minutes and was a factor out there. So I'm hoping that this gets her going in the right direction.”

Geno is not the only one that thought this was her best game. It was clear she is starting to get it. It's sad that Griffin is out but it's the right time for Ice to understand how important it is for her to keep gettting better.

GO SHEA GO!!! Vanderbilt handed Mississippi State their third loss of the season, beating the Bulldogs 71-66. Iana Moore had 29 for Vandy. A great win for the Commodores. They move to 14-1. What a start to the season. With Syracuse losing and dropping out of the Top 25 does Vanderbilt make that move? I sure hope so!
