So many honors already for this young woman. She also won the WBCA High School POY award and was names a McD's all-American. She was also named to the Jordan All-Star game. I'm sure there will be more platitudes as well.
Three of the last four Naismith award winners will be on UConn's roster next season. Senior Katie Lou Samuelson, Sophomore Megan Walker and now Williams.
Certainly Katie Lou has lived up to her billing. She will be a two time AA and a possible POY candidate. And she will be back next season.
I know that many folks are disappointed in how Walker has performed this season. It's rare that a great player like Megan will be so tentative for the entire season. Certainly on UConn's team...it has rarely happened. However, no one is as disappointed as Walker herself. I'll make a big prediction and say that she make a HUGE sophomore jump next year and gets 22-25 minutes and scores in double digits. She is just too talented to fail.
Williams is cut from a different cloth as Walker. This young lady is ultra confident. I fully expect her to come in and do something rare for a freshman. Compete for a starting position, mostly with Walker for that fifth spot along side Samuelson, Collier, Dangerfield and Stevens. Yes, that is another prediction!
