I'm going to keep this here to remind you all to vote for UConn players!!!!!

Lou, Gabby - Women's Citizen Naismith Trophy (vote March 19-30)

***************************************************************

I'm so excited. Logan is coming to Florida for Passover. Oh yeah, his mother too. It's not often enough that my kids and their kids are all together.

He's on the plane!!!!

Almost off the plane!!

***********************************************************

Ok....I'll say it. Notre Dame doesn't deserve to be in the Final Four. Why you might ask? Well, I'll tell you.

They wouldn't be here without Jessica Shepard. She is there only true post, a solid player and with her senior Kristina Nelson or freshman Danielle Patterson would fill out that starting position. And there is no way in hell that the Irish would have been a NO. 1 seed. No way in hell would they have won 33 games. No way in hell would they have beaten Texas A&M or Oregon.

Ok...I guess we really don't know how it would have played out with her. You can't predict things like that. But I certainly feel that they wouldn't be in this game.

Oh yeah, why am I mentioning Shepard? I'm sure most of you know but the NCAA game Shepard a waiver that would allow her to play in spite of the transfer rule says she should sit one year. Now, did the NCAA give a reason? Not really.

What did Shepard have to say about it?

Shepard said she made the waiver request for “personal reasons".

Personal reason? Yeah, like my friend Cat said "She personally wanted to improve her game and she personally wanted to compete for championships."

There are many players who request waivers and I can't figure out why this one was granted other than it's Notre Dame.

So yes, they don't deserve to be in the Final Foul And yes, I hope UConn crushes them.

Here is my UConn/Notre Dame Pre Game Report.

By David in Naples!!!!!

As UConn gets ready for the Final Four, here is a review of the most interesting stats so far this year. Enjoy...1. Kia reached 100 assists against South Carolina. The Huskies now have five players with 100+ assists. That is the 3rd time in four years.
2. Crystal has taken 130 shots outside the 3 pt arc and 130 shots from inside. She has made 60 threes and 60 two-point shots.
3. Azura is making 68% of her shots from the field, inside the 3 pt arc. Napheesa is making 63% of those shots.
4. Napheesa leads the team in points (573), rebounds (270), made free throws (80) and total field goals (236). She is 2nd in blocked shots (63) and steals (59).
5. Kia and Gabby both have 170 baskets. For Kia, 83 have been three-point shots and 87 have been inside the arc. Gabby has 0 threes. :P
6. Crystal has 138 assists and only 50 turnovers. That gives her a 2.76 ratio of assists to turnovers.
7. Katie Lou has the best three-point shooting % at 47.4% and the best free throw % at 83.5%.
8. Megan has scored 186 points. The other six reserves have scored 175 points.
9. UConn has 823 assists as a team. That is 40 assists away from last year's record total.
10. Opponents have made 729 baskets, but also have 657 turnovers.

Big game on Friday vs Notre Dame at 9 pm..!!  :D

Go Huskies..!!

Things You Never Need To Know About Columbus Ohio

Image result for columbus ohio

Well, that’s no exactly true. This one is worth knowing. The City of Columbus gets its drinking water surface water from the Scioto River and Big Walnut Creek, as well as ground water pumped from sand and gravel deposits of the Scioto River Valley. Combined sewer and storm drains serving a good deal of old Columbus flow into the Scioto River as well as storm drains from the city and it’s suburbs/ High levels of Chromium 6 are found in the drinking water system. Think Erin Brockovich and live on bottled water while visiting Columbus. Thus endeth the public service announcement..Did you know:

1. Columbus has the largest public statue of a judicial gavel. That could come in handy if a Tyrannosaurus is rampaging through the streets and Superman is close by, but, like Michael, I’d rather see the largest frying pan in the world or the largest ball of twine.

2. Colombus proudly lets you know that one half of the United States population is within a 500 mile radius of the city. This fact has been confirmed by Soviet and Chinese military experts.

3. Another oddity. Columbus has been named the most intelligent city, but is ranked as the 15th most literate and 19th most educated. Remember, these people are also still drinking that water talked about up above.

4. It is illegal to arrest anyone on a Sunday in Columbus or anywhere else in Ohio. However, though still on the books, this law is not enforced. So keep that in mind during your wild Sunday celebrations should the thing which cannot be mentioned occur this Sunday. This includes consorting with any of the paid sex workers now flooding the city. What happens in Columbus doesn’t stay in Columbus.

5. The Ohio Historical Center on Velma Avenue has a genuine, stuffed two headed calf on display.

6. In 1926 The Ohio University elected Rosalind Morrison Homecoming Queen. She received 12,000 votes. However, as only 10,000 were eligible to vote in the election, she was disqualified and Maudine Ormsby, the runner up was declared the winner. Maudine was a cow nominated by the College of Agriculture. It’s reported she attended the Homecoming Parade but missed the Homecoming Dance.

7. The suburb of Dublin houses 109 concrete ears of corn, each standing 6’3” in height, dubbed Cornhenge by the local wags, erected in 1994 to celebrate Ohio’s agricultural roots.

That’s enough right…
