Well, I'm still under the weather. So just a few tidbits before I crash for the night!

A couple of top 25 matchups Thursday night.

You have No. 16 Michigan State visiting No. 15 Notre Dame. The Irish are coming off a home loss to unranked (for now) Tennessee and will be looking to prevent a two game losing streak at home.

Three fun facts provided by David from the ND/TN game.

1. Notre Dame had 12 shots blocked by 5 different UT players.

2. Sam Brunell was 2-11 from three-point range, 0 assists, 3 turnovers.

3. ND was out-rebounded 55-28.

The other matchup of top 25 teams is No. 18 DePaul visiting No. 7 Oregon State. I'll be rooting hard for Coach Doug and his DePaul Blue Demons, UConn's future Big East conference mate!

** Notre Dame lost to Michigan State 72-69.

If you describe someone as a dreamer, you mean that they spend a lot of time thinking about and planning for things that they would like to happen but which are improbable or impractical.

This fits many of the Tennessee fans based on a few games with one good win over an overrated Notre Dame team. Here are a good example.

"KJH has turned the program around. The team looked coached for the first time since Pat. Mistakes? Yeah, there were a lot. But, they played hard. Excellent D. They dominated the boards (Pat's #1 game priority) and took a big game on the road at ND. Very impressed with the length and athleticism of the team. The future looks very bright for the first time in a long time. They are going to be fun to watch."

I wonder if the team looked coached and was fun to watch after the first quarter of the game against Tennessee State. They were up 14-10 and shot 6-17 from the field, 1-6 on threes and had 7 turnovers.

I'm sure they will do better in the second quarter and the remainder of the game. Maybe.

Image result for stat of the day

By David in Naples!!!!!

Geno is using two players to fill the 5th starter role. Neither Anna Makurat and Aubrey Griffin is playing well enough to earn the job full time, but together they are getting it done. Consider their combined stat line:

A&A = 43 minutes played, 2-9 shooting for 4 pts, 8 rebounds, 6 steals, 5 assists, 4 turnovers and 2 fouls.

The shooting part is not good, but that should improve. After all, they are both freshman. But the rebounds, steals and assists is off the charts for the 5th starter. If there was just a way to combine them together on the court...

Go Huskies..!!
