I'd thought I would share with you how crazy the Tennessee fans are. They have pretty much lost it with the transfer of Westbrook to UConn. I told you about the fan that prayed that her waiver would not be approved. They just can't seem to drop it.

Here is something I hadn't seen before.

"So whatever case UConn attempted to fabricate-- lack of medical care, mistreatment, social bullying-- can't be sufficiently supported. UConn knows this. So now they're imploring Fulmer to support an "egregious conduct" allegation to circumvent the process. They were fortunate that UT remained neutral, instead of aggressively countering-- which most schools do as a matter of policy and certainly would have done in this situation.

Attempted to fabricate? Seriously, Geno was making shit up to buffalo the NCAA? Unbelievable.

They are still crying about the Maya Moore recruiting controversy. Here is a flash from the past. And no, it wasn't a post from 12 years ago.

"Did anyone ever figure out how Katherine Moore was able to instantly lift herself out of poverty in Atlanta in order to go live in Connecticut — with it’s above average cost of living — where she suddenly had the capital to start a successful handbag business? How does that happen without some special favors being given by someone up there?

And how do Katherine Moore’s products get to be sold at the UCONN store with UCONN logos on them without some sort of “special arrangement” being made? I sure never have heard of any other students’ and/or players’ parents selling their wares through official university websites, have any of you?"

They seriously still believe that UConn or UConn boosters paid of Katherine Moore to get her daughter to go to UConn??

I hope the Huskies beat the Lady Vols by 50 in January.

Image result for top 25 games

Tonight is the opening night for WCBB with a ton of Top 25 games. And we even had our first upset!!

Unranked Missouri State defeated No. 23 Minnesota on the Golden Gophers home court, 77-69, behind 21 points from the very talented Brice Calip. In spite of having 26 turnover, the Lady Bears were still able to hold off Minnesota. This is the same Missouri State that Kellie  Jolly-Harper, the new Tennessee coach, was the coach of last year. She led them to the NCAA tournament last season and upsets of Depaul and Iowa State before losing to Stanford after having a half time lead. So, is it the players or the coach?

No other upsets Tuesday night, but a couple of teams UConn is playing had their first games with some interesting results.

No. 16 Notre Dame was able to hold on and beat Fordham 60-55, foreshadowing the issues the Irish are going to have all season. The Rams were an NCAA team last year, winning the A-10, but they should have been no match for a typical Notre Dame team. Clearly this is not a typical Irish team. They only had a 7 player rotation and and I believe it would have been only 6 if Vaughn hadn't injured her knee limiting her to 20 minutes. Hopefully she will be ok. A good sign was that they were led in scoring by freshman Brunelle and sophomore Gilbert with 14 each. Freshman Peoples had 11. McGraw is fortunate that she was able to snag two transfers or she might not have been able to field a full team. Sniezak from Stanford and Walker from Texas each played 38 minutes. They may drop from exhaustion before the season is over.

The team stats were not typical of a Notre Dame team either. They shot 36% from the field and 2-10 on threes. They were also only 20-33 from the foul line. They also had 21 turnovers. Not good. This team is really going to struggle in the tough ACC and the tougher games in their out of conference schedule. Make sure you watch the Notre Dame / Tennessee game next Monday on ESPN2. It should be an interesting game in South Bend.

Speaking of Tennessee, they had a similar game against ETSU winning 72-68 almost blowing a late 13 point lead. The Lady Vols looked a lot like the team that lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament last season. Bad shoot, unsure passing, bad defense (fouling) and no communication. Tennessee was led by Green with 17 points and Davis with 13 points. They were big on the boards of course
with a huge height advantage, and took 16 more shots. But just like last year, they have no shooters. Tennessee ended up shooting 36% from the field, 3-18 on threes and 9-16 from the line. Awful.

The fans of both of these teams are going the "a win is a win" route, saying that this was expected with so many new players. But seriously? These two teams could build a wall with all the bricks they will be shooting on Monday.

More waiver news.

Former guard Mikayla Coombs, who transferred to Georgia after last season, had her waiver for immediate eligibility denied by NCAA. Georgia will submit an appeal. I'm a firm believer that the NCAA should just let players play immediately after their first transfer no matter the circumstances.

By David in Naples!!!!!

Wednesday, UConn plays Tennessee. No, not the orange team we hate. The Huskies play their 2nd exhibition against Trevecca Nazarene University in Hartford. Trevecca won their first game handily, but this won't be much of a contest. Why? Because they are short, shorter and shortest.

The five starters from the first game are 5'6", 5'10", 5'10", 5'10" and 6'. The next three subs are 5'8", 5'7" and 5'7". If Trevecca wants to go even shorter, they have two players who are 5'3' and 5'6". The tallest player on the roster is 6'1", but played only 9 minutes in their rout of Blue Mountain and shot 0-2.

Despite the 79-33 score, Trevecca shot only 28% from three range (7-25) and missed 44 shots overall. The free throw shooting was also poor, (10-17), but so was UConn's. One final note, the 19 turnovers exceeded the 17 assists. That is never a good sign.

Go Huskies..!!
