I watched some of the USA National Team vs Oregon and the Ducks are well deserved of their No. 1 ranking. They are really really good. The have a shot at going undefeated this season if they can get by the Huskies on UConn's home court.
Sabrina Ionescu is hands down the best player in the country. I watched Texas A&M play the USA National Team a couple of days ago and Chennedy Carter had a terrific game as well. But Ionescu is so much more under control than Carter. She just has a better overall game. But boy, both are fun to watch.
Against A&M, the National Team pulled away for a 30 point win. Not so much against Oregon. The Ducks kept it close and it was 70-69 Oregon then BOOM, they hit 3 three pointers to take a 10 point lead with 7 minutes left in the game. USA made a late run but Oregon kept their cool and finished the game well to beat the National team 93-86.
Now, it's true that not all the best players were there for this tour. No Griner, no Moore. I believe a few others But damn, I'm so impressed with Oregon.

There were a few players that UConn missed out on in the 2019 class. Two that come to mind are Haley Jones and Aliya Boston. I would have loved either of these players. Certainly Boston, the best post in that class.
Jones has played two games and so far has been fairly unimpressive. She scored 2 points in her first game and 8 in her second time out with 5 of those in garbage time. I'm sure we will see better games from her in the future, but it sure is a slow start.
Boston only played one game and it was a really weak Alabama State team. South Carolina won 103-43, but still, you can't take away the great game Boston had. She had 10 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks for a triple double. More amazing, she did this in only 21 minutes. Yes, 10 blocks in 21 minutes. Like 1 every 2 minutes. That is just insane. She is not going to keep this pace up, but I really wish she chose UConn.
But then again, maybe Edwards (2020) or DeBerry (2021) might not had picked the Huskies. OK, I'm just rationalizing.
