I dare anyone that has been complaining for the first three games to find fault in this win!!!
UConn did a number on Virginia winning 83-44 in a game that wasn't even that close.
The Huskies shot 50% from the field, 39% on threes and had 21 assists on 30 baskets. They also only had 10 turnovers and won the rebounding battle 42-35. I guess you could complain about the 62% from the free throw line if you want to nitpick.
They did all this with Nelson-Ododa playing only 19 minutes, trashing another worry about this team, that they can't play without a big in the middle. Guess what. They did.
I said the core four could outscore Virginia and they did 54-44,
I said that if both freshman played well UConn could score in the 80's while holding Virginia in the 40's.
I said they would win by 35+. Ehhhh....close enough!\
I felt good about this game and boy they made me a prophet!
Just a couple of shout outs.
- Makurat hit two threes and scored 10 points and led the team in assists again with 5. Wow!
- Kyla had a career game with 13 points, hitting all her shots, going 4-4 from the field and 2-2 on threes. She also added 6 rebounds and 5 assists in 24 minutes. Is this the start of a special final season?

My prediction from my pregame report was pretty right on.
The "Core Four" has been terrific and I don't believe that Virginia has any answers for them. Dangerfield is too quick, Williams is too shifty, Walker is too strong and Nelson-Ododa is too tall. Alone, they can outscore this Cav's team. If the two freshman can have a good offensive game UConn can score in the 80's while holding Virginia to the 40's. I'm feeling good about this game. UConn by 35+.

As I predicted, and it was an easy one, Tennessee beat up on poor Stetson 73-46 and of course all the Lady Vol fans are in a tizzy they are so excited.
One of them said, and I'm paraphrasing a little here - "post depth will still cause tons of problems for other teams. They have a real opportunity to wear down team's inside game and stomp all over the smaller teams"
Post depth, huh. Well in this game, here is how their depth in the post did.....
6'4" Kishkituah - 11 points, 6 rebounds
6'5" Key - 2 points, 0 rebounds
6'3" Harris - 0 points, 1 rebound
6'5" Saunders - 1 points, 2 rebounds
They can go on and on about how many bigs they have in the post. But if they are not good, how does that help, let alone dominate?
Post depth will cause ton's of problems, wear down and stomp all over the smaller teams? My ass.
