Yesterday I posted about DePaul scoring 45 points in the first quarter and hitting 9 threes in the quarter. Crazy, but it was against a weak opponent, so, no big deal.

Saturday, No. 19 DePaul took on No. 16 Miami, from the ACC and beat the previously undefeated Hurricanes 89-83. It was a heck of a game. DePaul outdid themselves on threes, hitting 17 long range shots for the game. I believe they took 48 of them. Yes, 48. I believe I calculated that they took one three pointer every minute in their last game. This game it was every .83 minutes.

Seven of the eight players that saw minutes hit at least one three pointer. Coach Bruno's team is going to make it difficult for any team to beat them. And if they lose, they will make the opposing team crazy!! However, in their only loss they shot only 6-34 on threes. Can't win that way.

Well, well, look what happened. Notre Dame decided to win a game against a Top 25 team.

The Irish beat No. 21 Michigan on the road 76-72 with a nice late game comeback. They held Michigan to 11 fourth quarter points and held on for the win.

5th year transfer Destinee Walker had her best game for Notre Dame scoring 27 points hitting 5 three point shots. She also added 4 steals.

Michigan had a horrid fourth quarter. They were 2-13 from the field with one of those coming on a layup at the buzzer. They also had 7 turnovers. Blech...

Big win for the Irish. Let's see if this gets them on the right track.

There is another upset in the making. Well, maybe. No. 6 Texas A&M is visiting the real USC, the University of Southern California. I'm sure South Caroline fans will disagree with me.

At the half it's 37-32 Texas A&M. Yes, so it's not an upset yet. My point in posting about this game is to point out how much I dislike volume shooters. In my mind they are mostly selfish players. Yes, they want their teams to win, but for some reason, they believe (maybe the coach tells them to shoot that much) that they have to play like to in order for the team to win. A little self-importance attitude??

In this game, the biggest volume shooter in WCBB is at it again. Chennedy Carter, a Pre-Season All-American is having the type of game that makes me crazy. In the first half she is 4-15 and 1-6 on threes. Oh yeah, with 4 turnovers. The rest of the team is 13-18. Maybe THEY should be shooting more?

I'll be back with the final score and stats at about 10:30.

So, no upset. A&M beat Southern Cal fairly easily 74-64.

And the volume shooter had a much better second half. She still took a ton of shots, but she hit a much higher percentage. In the second half she was 8-13 and ended up with 26 points on 28 shots. I still hate it.
