Today I'm celebrating our 44th anniversary. I'm so lucky to have met this women and to be married so happily for so many years. She is the wonderful mother of our two children and a great Bubbe to our four grandkids.

Happy Anniversary my love!!!

Still under the weather. Hopefully we will celebrate tomorrow night. I did manage to put together a UConn/Temple Pregame Report.

This will be well worth the 19 minutes it takes to watch this video.

So, after four games, many fans are talking about how much the Tennessee team has improved over last season. They look better they say. They are playing like a team they say.

Maybe defensively that is true, but they really haven't played a good offensive team yet. Their stats are against teams that comprise the 176th ranked SOS.

Basically the idea they have improved so much is based on eye test. I'll give some credence to that. There are times they looked good. But it's not like they didn't look good at times last year. Talent will look good at times no matter how the coaching brings them down. However, I'm a big fan of stats, as you probably know. The stats don't pass the eye test. Here are a few that will probably surprise many of you.

FG% 43.0
3FG% 29.0
FT% 59.7
Assists/TO 66/76

Remember, these numbers are against an easy schedule including the depleted Notre Dame team. Tennessee played the 232, 110, 189 and 109 RPI.

Now, maybe they will get better, but losing their 2nd best player in Zay Green will not help.

The eye test? Just look at the numbers.

Yes, I know that UConn's numbers are similar. Two things. We admit that UConn is playing poorly. And UConn has played the 86 and 33 RPI in their two games.  Big difference.

By David in Naples!!!!!

After two games, UConn's assist leader is not a guard or a wing. It is Olivia Nelson-Ododa with 8 assists. In 2nd place is Anna Makurat with 7 assists and only 1 turnover. Crystal has 6 assists & 7 turnovers.

Runner-up Stat of the Day - UConn is shooting just 28.9% from three-point range (11-38). Opponents are hitting 30.3% (10-33).
