Here is my UConn/Oregon Pregame Report

Oregon warmed up for UConn with an easy 101-53 win on the road against Colorado. The great and powerful Wizard of Ducks, Sabrina Ionescu, had her 23rd triple double of her career and 5th this season! She ended up with 24 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds. Amazing. Win or lose, I'll be excited to watch her play. I wish I could be there in person.

I guess it's all about perspective. Tennessee just received a verbal from 2021 recruit Karoline Striplin, a 6'2" forward out of Alabama. Congrats to the Lady Vols. Their fans are going crazy with glee about this news.
Not to pour water on this news, but she is only number 53 in the ESPN rankings. I believe Propects Nation has her at 35.
Not the top level player. She is a four star on ESPN. However, you have to start somewhere and this is Coach Harper's first recruit for 2021. To me it's in line with who they have coming to Knoxville for 2020 and not quite a step up. I know they have been working hard on higher level recruits. Time will tell how they do with that. For me this announcement was meh.

Speaking of Tennessee, they have a tough game coming up on Sunday against No. 1 South Carolina in Columbia.
Tennessee is now 1-4 against teams in the top 35 RPI beating only LSU. A win would go a long way in restoring some luster to the Tennessee program.
I guess the bottom line question is, will a loss move Tennessee up in the polls like it did after they lost to UConn?

Scoring 80 points normally will win the game. UConn scores 80 and beat Cincinnati by 30 points. But how the Huskies got 80 is interesting. Consider:
1. In the 2nd period, they scored 9 pts, but still got to 80.
2. Anna Makurat went 0-5, still got to 80.
3. Olivia had 3 fouls early, still got to 80.
3. Christyn went 4-16 and 1-6 from three. Still got to 80.
4. Aubrey shot 1-4 with 3 pts. Still got to 80.
5. UConn has 16 turnovers and still made 80.
So how the heck did UConn get to 80 points and win by 30..?
1. Crystal had 24 all by herself and Megan added 21.
2. The defense held Cincinnati to 32% shooting.
3. Cincinnati missed 42 of their 62 shots.
Next up is Oregon on Monday.
