I tried. I really tried. After reading the quotes from Geno's speech at the Kobe memorial, I got pretty choked up. I stopped after a few paragraphs. Then I saw a link to his speech on YouTube so I clicked on it. I got to where he said he looked at this as a parent and not a coach and how the thought about the others on the helicopter and that was it for me. I was blubbering like a baby. It was sad beyond comprehension. I just couldn't watch any more and I just can't bring myself to watch the Diana Taurasi speech as well.
It makes me so angry to read some of the horrible things that people say about Geno at times. There is so much good in this man and we are so lucky to have a chance to watch his incredible career at UConn and receive the joy he has brought so many of us.

Yes, one of my all time favorite Husky is coming back to Connecticut. Kaleena Mosquada-Lewis is now a member of the Connecticut Sun. I'm hoping that this will be a great career more for KML.
GOOD LUCK KALEENA!!!

I stole this from someone on a UConn message board. I thought it was a good piece of analysis and something I was thinking of putting together. This poster saved me a bunch of time. It basically shows how much better off UConn will be in the Big East next year.
This year, the AAC conference is 9th behind the P5, Big East, Ivy and Missouri Valley Conference. No matter how you slice it, that's terrible. Here is a formal look at this years AAC to Big East as a predictor for how UConn should benefit in the years to come from a relative rating perspective and the good news is -it looks significantly good. The Big East should make some inroads in closing the gap to the P5 but still needs the lower group of a few schools to get better.
A few notes for the below chart: Q1 is playing teams ranked RPI 1-50; Q2 is 51-100; Q3 is 101-200 and Q4 is 201-351
The teams are sorted in current standings sequence. C-Rec is conference record, O-Rec is overall record. SoS is strength of overall schedule and Q1 is their Q1 record. AAC average is 4.64 Q1 games on their schedule, BE average is 6.9 Q1 games on their Conference schedule. The 11 other AAC teams have played a total of 51 Q1 teams. The 10 Big East teams have played 69 Q1 teams and please note that the Big East has to play an 18 game conference schedule. The BE has 2 teams who have played >100 SoS while the AAC has 7 teams with >100 SoS.
Xavier looks abysmal at 3-24 but their SoS is 39, so the coach is trying. Now look at Cincinnati, 18-8 with SoS 104 and only 5 Q1 games.
I couldn't get the chart to fit the page so just scroll right to see all the data.

By David in Naples!!!!
According to some fans, Christyn Williams is really shooting poorly and contributing little on offense or defense. They point to games like UCF (1st game) when she shot 1-9 or South Carolina when she was 1-11. The answer is "What about games like Baylor (8-17) or Memphis (7-12 overall) or East Carolina (11-17)? There must be a reason Geno has played her more minutes than anyone else on the roster. (930 minutes or 35.8 per game)
Squeaks is the 2nd leading scorer with 367 points. Her three point accuracy is not the best at 32.4%, but that would still lead Notre Dame. Inside the arc, she is a very respectable 49.7%. So, basically 50%. To her credit, on an off shooting night, she does not try to "shoot her way out of a slump." Her effort on the other parts of the game are excellent.
She has 124 rebounds, just 2 less than Aubrey, who is a rebounding machine. Her 45 offensive rebounds are actually 1 more than Megan. Williams has 67 assists versus 47 turnovers for a ratio of 1.42. Again, very respectable. She has tried more free throws than Olivia and Crystal and makes 68.2% of them. Maybe Geno knows something some "fans" don't about Christyn... bet on it.
Go Huskies..!!
