UConn plays Tulane on Wednesday night at 7:00 in Hartford at the XL Center. It's the first meeting this season between the Huskies and the Green Wave.

Tulane started the conference season on fire winning their first 6 games but have now lost 5 of their last 6 games and their last 4. I'm sure they are the thrilled to be facing a Husky team that is looking to make an impression the last few games of the regular season.

Tulane has only two players with a double digit scoring average. They are led by 6' Junior forward Krystal Freeman at 14.4 PPG and leading rebounder as well at 7.6 RPG. She is also their best three point shooter at 35%. Arsula Clark, a 5'9" Junior guard is their second leading scorer at 12.7 PPG. She leads the team in assists with 62 on the season, but like the overall team, she has way more turnovers than assists with 81.

This is a poor shooting team, hitting at a 38% clip overall and 31% on threes. And as I said, the team averages 13.7 assists and 18.7 turnovers. With these numbers, it's not a shock that they only average 60 PPG.

This is the type of team that past UConn teams would have beaten by 40 points without breaking a sweat. This UConn team? They certainly are capable of doing that. Will they?

I believe they will. UConn beat them 75-33 last season with Walker scoring a career high 34 points becoming the first UConn player in 20 years to outscore the opponent by herself.

The latest Coaches poll came out and UConn is No. 5 in that one. The voters only moved Louisville and Stanford up 3 spots and UConn actually moved up one spot. With all the complaining I did in yesterday's poll, this one appears to have it right. At least what I consider right. But while the polls are fun to talk about, it's the seeding in the NCAA brackets that really matter.

In the latest Bracetology, which is not necessarily a predictor of the brackets, UConn is a two seed. I'm not upset with that, but Creme has them in the same bracket as Oregon. A tough road to the final four. He has Louisville as the best No. 2 seed ahead of UConn and in a much easier bracket with Maryland as the No. 1 that they would have to play.

Charlie isn't always right and there are a few more games to play, so things can change. We shall see.

Looks like the NCAA is looking into changing the transfer rules and it's about time. It's not total freedom of movement for players, but the suggestion is that players get one penalty free transfer per career. No penalty means no sitting out one season for the first transfer.

I like it. I like it a lot. As long as UConn brings in players and doesn't lose any!!!

Image result for stats don't lie

By David in Naples!!!!

UConn is now in 6th place in the AP Women's Basketball poll for this week. They are close to 4th place Stanford and just behind 5th place Louisville. Part of the reason the Huskies fell to 6th place is the loss to South Carolina. UConn now has 3 loses, to the #1, #2, and #3 teams in the country. The other part of the reason is some voters just don't like UConn. Take James Kratch for example. He voted the Huskies in 10th place, behind Miss. State, Maryland, NC State and UCLA.

Who did those "better" teams lose to? MSU has 4 loses, including recently to Kentucky and previously to West Virginia. Maryland also has 4 loses & lost to Northwestern and Iowa. UCLA has 3 loses and those include Arizona and Southern Cal. How are any of those loses better than UConn's 3 defeats to #1,#2 and #3?  They aren't. Haters gonna hate..!

Go Huskies..!!
