UCF POST GAME INTERVIEWS
*****************************************************
I'll start with a non-upset. Vanderbilt had two shots at a three pointer in the closing seconds of the game that would've tied the game, but they failed, and Tennessee won. Not an upset in the usual sense of the word but it upset me so it's on the list.
North Carolina was a 4.5 point favorite over Wake Forest but Wake Forest upset North Carolina in OT
Syracuse, who beat Louisville last week, was favored to beat Notre Dame but laid an egg. They fell way behind early, came back to tie but lost in the closing seconds.
Maine is ranked number 242 and should not be in the game against Stony Brook who had an outside shot at a tournament invite, but Maine crushed those hopes.
Depaul is ranked and a 10.5 favorite over Villanova, but Villanova won by 18 points
IUPUI had dreams of getting a tournament invite but despite being favored by 9.5 points over Green Bay, managed to lose
Colorado has had several almost wins against some very good teams but finally did it beating Arizona 50 – 38. Arizona actually led going into the fourth quarter.
Louisville was an overwhelming 31.5 favorite against Pittsburgh but… okay I'm just trying to get a reaction, they won by 32.
Arizona State was expected to beat Utah, ranked #71 by Massey, but Utah prevailed.
Virginia Tech took their 20 – 6 record against under .500 Virginia, but Virginia beat them by 10 points
Washington, ranked number 83 by Massey, upsets AP#8 UCLA
USC is ranked slightly ahead of Washington State but the game was played at Washington state, and that made Washington State the slight favorite. USC prevailed 66 – 60
Alabama was a 13.5 point underdog to AP#9 Mississippi State, but upsets them on a tip-in at the buzzer.
North Dakota, playing at home was a small favorite over North Dakota State, but North Dakota State upsets North Dakota 82 – 74
Iowa State, playing at home, was an 8.5 point favorite over Texas Tech, but Texas Tech upset Iowa State
LSU, playing at home was in the half point favorite over Georgia, but the Bulldogs won easily 73 – 56
Florida scored the first basket against Arkansas, pulled out to a 14 point lead halfway through the first quarter, and held on for the upset. Arkansas close within one but never took the lead.
Georgia Tech had a six point lead with just under seven seven minutes left in the game, and would not score another basket, but four free throws were enough to upset Florida State.
There were some other upsets but let's face it, no one cares about LIU Brooklyn or Wagner.
